It has been a while since I have posted an update about the Montagnards, but it has not been due to a lull in the action.

I was lucky enough to meet with Gen. Reeder over the memorial day weekend at the Montagnard land to explain the various health care issues facing the US Montagnard population and what we had been able to so far to combat it (not much really).

This turned into meetings with volunteers from his staff and, this past Saturday, 20 volunteers from across the Special Forces Regiment came out to provide medical screenings to 200+ Montagnards. The information gathered here will enable us to move forward with plans to include local care providers in future medical endeavors.

It is amazing that I have been working for 6+ years to get something going and the right interested parties heard of our plans and spread the word and folks volunteered to give up a Saturday to help these amazing folks. To as I was impressed would be an understatement, to say that I was touched would be a major understatement and to say that the Montagnards felt a sense of empowerment and relief that they had not been forgotten would be a massive understatement.

My hat is off to the professional men and women who came out to help.

I know clips and links are frowned upon, but here is a great story about the days events.
