Anybody here going to the Aug30-Sep1 conference? The power that be is kind enough to give me day off to check it out. Looking forward to link up with some ps.com members :)

For those who attended it last year, how was the Live Fire day and the shoothouse match? Min round counts?

If you didn't go today, I would recommend going on the 31st tomorrow. Great expo, IMHO. One of the highlights was a demo of a holographic map type that enable a 3D model in 10min from surveillance photo, UAV images, or google map vs. 1 hours+ building a sand model.
Beretta brought the demo tweaked TRG42 and SAKO stock which looked remarkably alike to the KRG (copy and paste) kineticresearchgroup.com/products/fstrg.php That thing was super modular, LOP adjust, cheek height, etc. and with a monopod attached, the possible combination is just about endless.
SOWF was there, but they were told the (non-profit!) raffle for donation was illegal, and was told to cease and desist
optactical was there. I was told if you order online and put a note you're going to the event tomorrow. You can get it there and save on shipping. voila!
Magpul staff was outstanding in their knowledge/product demo and generosity. Upon discussing Larue OBR, the guy handed me their 7.62 mag which was not even on display. Seems the vendors there all put Larue products on a pedestal. Gee, I wonder why
Jason Falla, the ex Aussie SAS, of Redback One was there with the SORD. Had discussion about drawing and transition standard. 2 seconds for running empty and transition. 5 for that IAD, reholster, reload rifle, and shoot. Knowledgable and approachable (big) guy.
The night-vision-thermal-two-way-life-feed demo from the ITT guys were borderline scifi.
...and many other outstanding vendors, demo, and products.
If nothing else, trigger time with UTM rounds and the free beers were worth it :D
