Let's also rein in congressional spending and waste....and then let's put Frank and about 30 other "career" politicians on board a chinook and fly 'em over the friendly skies of Afghanistan.

Thanks...I needed the good laugh...I've been in a foul mood all day over the retirement issue, the stock loss, the President assuring me that we're still economically sound, etc.

I wonder if this means we will stop spending a shit ton of money developing interactive web training to teach service members how to appreciate and tolerate homosexuals while at the same time decreasing the threat of sexual harassment and sexual assault...

I'd bet on them getting rid of Basic Rifle Marksmanship first!

Down because of military spending? I thought they said it was because of the tea party?

I guess they can't make up their minds on who to blame; they'll be calling a fully tax payer funded committee to figure that out, tho.

Interesting that this _________ ____________ gas-bag would go after an "industry" that as reported in Dec of 2010 employs over 100,000 of her constituents in the People's Republic of Mass.

• The defense industry attracted $15.6 billion in 2009
or 85 percent of all federal contract dollars awarded to
Massachusetts.
• These federal contracts translated into approximately
$26 billion in total economic activity for the
Commonwealth.
• The defense industry supported approximately
115,563 jobs in Massachusetts in 2009.
• The top 5 federal contract recipients in the
Commonwealth are defense contractors.
• The top 5 products or services sold to the federal
government are related to defense technology.

Aren't these the same folks that fight tooth and nail to keep bases open in their districts, when the base closure commission comes along? So they like us around because we provide revenue for their local communities, as well as jobs etc, etc, but now that they have started bouncing checks, we are an easy target?

Game on.

I think you're on a roll. Look how much they fought to keep bases and personnel during the BRAC. Makes you wonder what would happen when all of those "retirees" start deciding to move somewhere else with a lowered cost of living.

Yep, we're "patriotic Americans" when it comes to keeping bases in their states, etc, but we're nothing more than kevlar that can mow the grass afterwards.

It's the Military's fault. It's the Tea Party's fault. It's Bush's fault. It's (fill in the blank) fault.

Do they want some cheese with their w(h)ine?

It's the lack of leadership that is at fault. The buck stops at YOUR desk Mr. President.

I wondered how much the Army spent on designing and maintaining these programs when I had to sit down for a couple hours and complete the GAT, SHARP, and the suicide prevention brief. Made me want to slit my wrists.:D

If this is my fault (Military Spending), where's the check. Did I miss it? If so, will someone please re-send it?

Last time I looked at my paycheck, my civilian counter part was doing better than me. I am sure it is that way for most, if not all, of us. In fact, wasn't our pay frozen about 2 1/2 years ago? Let's see, what happened 2 1/2 years ago that would trigger such an action? Oh yes, some JackWagon started driving the car of America, without a license.

Shutting off the Government paychecks in Minnesota but, shutting off the welfare.

Giving out cell phones in Pennsylvania to those on welfare.

Entitlement program after entitlement program.

These are the things that are bankrupting the country.

For every government program, there are two others that fail just as badly as the first.

It took the government 1 day, to spend 60% of the money for the debt ceiling. It will take 10 years to get that money back through this compromise. Way to go!!

If I am not mistaken, it is unconstitutional for one Congress to enforce a budget from another Congress. That means........all those compromised spending cuts are VOID when the new Congress gets in. So, all the money is spent and it will be unconstitutional to enforce those budget cuts in 2012. The Republicans really know how to hold their ground.

Why is it that the Republicans felt the need to compromise in the first place? Winners never have to compromise......that is why they are winners. Compromising never solves the problem. Ever! Put it to you this way. Let's say, your house is on fire. You have two and only two choices. 1. Let it burn. 2. Save it. That is it. You can't compromise on any given room to save and let the rest go.

Okay, I am done venting. Man that felt pretty good.

To sum it all up in two words: Obama Sucks!
