I can take no credit for this, just saw it and thought it would be appreciated.

Showed this to my 12 y.o. daughter. Then went out in the garge and got my left over kit that looks remarkably like the poster. I enjoyed it. A picture is worth a thousand words. :D

My 14 y.o. just looked at me, "like yeah right".

I reminded her I have a gun, a shovel, lots of land and willing to use all 3!!!

Nice imitation of a scene from Modern Warfare 2.

My dad just used to meet the young lad while cleaning his hunting rifles in the living room.

This is what I plan on doing when the time comes. Maybe sharpening some knives at the same time.

These days, you're lucky if she doesn't bring home a chick with spiked hair, a rainbow sticker on her windshield and a big G-Shock wristwatch.

Just establish the standard of how ANYone treats your little girl.

I mention that SHE asked ME to marry HER first.
The look on her 5 YO face when it dawned on her why Mom was always around was great.

It goes well with this:

Speak the perimeter password, announce in a clear voice that
you have brought my daughter home safely and early, then return to your
car -- there is no need for you to come inside. The camouflaged face at the
window is mine.

I'm going with a chalk outline of a body with an outstretched arm on the front steps, police tape, red paint and dead wilted flowers. The man that steps over/through that to ring the doorbell...will have both bravado and a sense of humor.

TS, She already has a list of team guys that will be called, and yes you are on it. We started the psyop campaign years ago. :)

I can only hope she turns out that way. Seems better than the alternative. :)

Rarely does a birthday card really get to the heart of things. For my recent 63rd birthday my 21 yo daughter gave me a card that brought tears to an old man's eyes.

We had a special understanding
between us that made
any joke we shared hilarious
and every outing an adventure.
We weren't just father and daughter,
we were a team...
and we still are.

I am really feeling I did something right.
