View Full Version : 35,000 Killed in 5 years...
This war is not going well and we need to take a firm stand.
I'm talking about Northern Mexico, not the Middle East..

Think about it..

I've often thought about why my Scottish ancestors left in 1650 for America and have concluded that if I was Mexican today, I'd be doing everything within my power to move my family to the USA.
And so it goes...

I don't blame them for wanting to leave Mexico. But, Like our ancesters, They should move right thru the US and into the wilderness in Canada and make a life for themselves like immigrants did here. Our ancesters did not invade America and demand their share of the social and welfare programs we have today. They sacrificed and made their way here with nothing but the clothes on their back and maybe a suitcase. The difference is they assimilated and made a life for themselves. They expected nothing from this country execpt the promise of freedom. Make it or break it, It was up to them.

Now...that's something I could go for....earn it...
Entire post.
The historical record of America's settlement does not support such a mythical point-of-view.

Mythical - Schamistical..
The problem is they are moving their drug war to the US,, We need to get involved with what ever military or civilian LEO org the Mexican have and stop the aggression before they start digging mass graves in the US,,
Sorry,, but I did not post this as an emigration issue..

Indians, Richard?
Are you saying as we replaced the "Native" American culture with our own so should the illegal border jumpers be able to do with ours?
And I'm not quite sure the extent of the welfare state the Indians provided to the white man.

Neo-colonialist!
:D

We aren't?

I think the drug, immigration, economic, and geographical issues are inseparably intertwined sub-elements of this problem.

Interesting interpolation.

Hey, you're the one who started with the interpolatin' stuff.

QP Richard...
I believe he was referring to our more recent ancestors, not Pilgrims.

I don't see much changing as long as people in this country continue to send their money south to the cartels.

There is a reason that people from other countries and cultures want to come to the United States. That reason is our culture promotes liberty and opportunity. I don't understand why immigrants don't get that.
If their culture was so fXXking wonderful why did they leave it? And once they get here, why would you do things the same way you did when you were in your country of origin? Look around! Life is better here. We do things better in this country. Adapt! Assimilate. Your life will get better!
JJ- There is a way to beat the Cartels. We are just not willing to make the decison to pursue that line of strategy. Look up "Los Pepes" in Colombia...

If a "Los Pepes" type organization was stood up and wiped out the zeta, gulf, and all the other cartels what then? There will still be a strong demand for drugs from this country and others. Wasnt Los Zetas originally fighting for the Mexican government against the cartels?

Strangely enough, it seems that there are those who feel the answer is not to fight the cartels, or destroy the drugs, rather to 'educate' those who would use the drugs.
A very bad idea enabling vigilante groups. And as has been pointed-out, these groups are all too often found to be criminal themselves.
Hot air rhetoric to be sure: but if the money spent on the war on drugs had been spent on education and rehabilitation north of the border. The demand for the product that fuels this illicit economy wouldn't be as prevalent south of the border.
