Al Qaeda is calling on American Muslims to go out, buy guns and start shooting people.
This is going to make things on military installations a little more tense..

Not a surprise, other than why did they wait this long? Undoubtedly will stir up the anti-gunners too . . .

Yes, though AQ can preach whatever they want, this doesn't mean the vast majority of Muslims will see them as anything other then the murderous terrorists and thugs they are. Yes, on point two regarding the anti-gunners though wouldn't this threat if credible also present a solid basis for a national carry permit?
Hopefully they will have the same survival rate as wolves the Govt. reintroduces to rangeland

Adam Gadahn is a lunatic who grew up a redneck on a small goat farm in Winchester, CA not far from where I live. I hope that he is the next member of Al Qaida to have a bullet placed in his forehead by a member of our SOF.
Someone once said that the best conspiracy involves only one person. An intelligent and motivated "lone wolf" individual acting by himself could actually do a lot of damage.

Because OBL was hung up on huge symbolic attacks and he was calling the shots. As a terrorist he really wasn't very effective. 1 big hit in 10 years. Looks like the new blood is better tuned in to what really terrorizes people. Shooting up a supermarket full of housewives makes people a lot more afraid for their own lives than hitting an embassy or international finance center. Bin Laden didn't understand that.
Might stir up the anti crowd or might not. Depends on what happens and how it happens.

Exactly the type of attack that would do the most damage. Hard to provide security for every shopping center or mall.
A national carry permit is a great idea, but there would be those states that would seriously resist due to the imposition of minimum training requirements. Here in New Mexixo we require a minimum of 15 hours training and a demonstration of safe firing practices by putting 25 holes in a 11x17 piece of paper from 3 and 5 yards. Even these requirements, as simple as they are to achieve, would be rejected by some states as "excessive".

With gun control on the "back burner" or so they say it would only take one high profile event by an AQ type for the AWB to be a major priority by the current administration IMO. We all know they cannot separate good vs evil and realize they are just tools in those hands. Plus he's going to be looking for something else to state he accomplished with the election approaching.
With gun control on the "back burner" or so they say
I wouldn't confuse the phrase "under the radar" with "back burner".

It would not take much to cause terror in our country, a few years back two idiots known as the DC Snipers caused total fear and chaos in the Northern VA area. People were afraid to get gas or even go shopping. I was TDY and would call every day to see if my wife and kids made it home for the day, a hell of a way to live.
Either this guy has been reading too many liberal news stories or ABC just got it all wrong. I don't think I have ever seen a "fully automatic assault rifle" at any of our local gun shows.
If the anti's do go crazy with this, it will just have the same effect that gun control has on crime; make it worse. When will these guys learn that all gun control does is make easier victims?
If someone actually decides to do this, then fighting in the streets/roads of US might become a reality.

You are right, "under the radar" is more appropriate.

Eliminating targets. We are at war.
I think that is called murder.
Under certain circumstances, it may just be called a "vigilant society."
You are right, "under the radar" is more appropriate.
