S-3 7th Gp I coordinated all the off post exercise's.
One mornin' a young 05B (18E) came in the office and ask me where to pick up their One Time Pads.
Before he left the room he ask the CWO "Chief what's that number you divide into the frequency toget the length of the antenna".
Young'n left and Chief said" I think we are going to have trouble making contact with "C" Co.!! ;-)))

Quarter - a roll of them to use with the AN/GRC-MaBell's in his GWOA. :D

My 05B had the antenna premarked with little plastic tabs.
I think he also had a resistor of some special number of ohms.
And a copper stake.

While I was in Ranger School I had a 18E do just that.. hook up to a barbed wire fence with a PRC-77

Jesus Escontrias did that with a -74B near Cloudcroft, New Mexico, in 1973 to make commo back to Bragg.
