OK this may one of the most stupid conversations I've ever listened to..... all you civilians reading this, the female from military.com should be working as a pole dancer and not advising for military.com. She's an idiot.

What the hell's the deal with the old chick too?

Also, I love that the Military.com chick is a "Relationships Expert".....why, cos she's had alot of relationships? :D
Or can you do a MSS-R These days - (Masters in Social Sciences - Relationships).

Thanks for the entertainment TS.
I would have thought Military.com would have respected its brand more to not send a brunette bombshell as a spokes person.

Tonight I met a real bomb shell of a gal who said she was the first female Navy SEAL stationed at NAS, Fallon, NV.

I beleived her and now I feel victimized, can I call someone?:lifter

Well for a reporter she sure lacks comprehension skills.

Our Brunette bombshell was obviously refering to telling a military fake by picking up on a poorly constructed back story, then trying to actually check weather they are a Navy SEAL or not.

Also, trying to claim that there was a new rash of women picking up lads in bars by claiming to be Ex-military is laughable. I'll give her kudos for being a reporting in RVN not to mention her numerous accolades, but she losses points for being a dumbass AND carrying a giant chip on her shoulder.

Just my $0.02

It's a good thing my better half does not troll here. I suspect she would try and stick her foot up your fourth point of contact just on principle.:D

It's not that she's a woman or that she's got some looks, it's that she's dressed like she going out on a date.

All I heard was a bunch of cackling Hen's. It was obvious Trotta had a problem with the other reporter.
She also could not be more wrong . There are places a civilian can contact for assistance outing a fake SEAL. Or any other special operations soldier. Like here for example.

That was painful for a Saturday AM. Saw nothing wrong with the M.com rep - except being young and talking "young-speak".

Trotta is past her prime and needs to keep her mouth shut these days. Turned the discussion from the subject to "ME ME ME ME - PLEASE LOOK AT ME - I'M SMARTER THAT SHE IS".

Somebody needs to put Liz in her place - too bad Diane didn't know about some of the BBs out there who can check the authenticity of a SEAL.

Overall, the whole episode reminded me of this... ;)

Just don't yell out "Yahoo" or she'll obviously know you are a scammer trying to get her money ;). Don't forget to tell her you are a 19 year old 5 star and 0-8 SEAL "Operator" to seal the deal.

All jokes aside, that was entertaining.....thanks for posting.

She may be an idiot, but she gets much better when you turn the sound off and just watch lol.

Did anyone else have the entire thing in spanish? I got a verizon fios commercial and all the text on the webpage was in spanish along with the video at first. After about 3 seconds into the video it died and froze up IE as the internet just couldnt handle it for some reason. I guess the ironic part is I have Verizon internet.

The relationship "expert", what qualifies her as that? There was no wedding ring. Is she an expert because she has been fooled so many times?

The women who fall for these losers are not victims so much as they are desperate. Who could blame them, in these hard economic times, looking for someone who shouldn't be morally bankrupt or bankrupt.

No one is putting anything over on the crypt keeper. I've done and will continue to do a lot of things for my country.....she is not one of them.

In all fairness, most people don't know that these sites exist or that they can use them to verify claims of service. Most people are not going to a website to verify claims and would probably go to a recruiter because in their mind that is an official rep of the respective branch of service.

I heard the line about the 19 year-old officer too...my son was commissioned out of NMMI at age 20...and there were several of his classmates that were not quite 20 years old...they were all commissioned in reserve units and not accessed to active duty until they completed bachelor's degrees, but they were officers, none the less...I suspect the same holds true for the other military junior colleges as well...

It does. I have friends who commissioned early via the Early Commissioning Programs of Valley Forge, Georgia Military College and Marion Military Institute. They were all 1LTs who were serving in Reserve/Guard units by the time they attended their respective BOLCs.

She works for military.com, spokes-person for military.com and she's 100% wrong. (makes me wonder how she got that job....)

They should have asked Chuck and Mary Schantag to do the interview. http://www.pownetwork.org/ Experts in busting fakes.

Not some 21 year old clueless idiot.

I would have expected that sort of interview on cnn, pbs, or msnbc, not FOX.

edit to add: google, "How do I verify military service", and you get all the right places to verify an individuals service......I've little doubt how stupid brunette got the job at military.com.

I think the M.com rep thinks a lot of herself. I liked the “I tell my 21 year old interns….” That confused me for a moment because she herself did not look a day over 21.

With the 19 year old officer line, I understand that we did commissioning before at early ages, but I do not know if that is in fact possible today. When I joined it was possible to be commissioned without a BA or BS but you had to finish it fairly quickly after your commission. I recently asked if they were still doing that, and I was told no. I have never seen or heard of any direct commissions in regular military recently in any conventional units either. So, does anyone know if 19-20 year old officers ARE still possible today? Besides Warrant officers such as highschool to flight-schoolers...if that even still exists as well.

To Clairify, I mean as of recently such as the last 2 or so years, seems like the Army is getting much more strict on its policies at least.

IMO Fox is a great network for providing an outlet for the conservative/libertarian/right-wing points of view on things, and acting as a counter to the other networks, but occassionally, it gets prone to stupid stuff as well.

Team Sergeant Sir, maybe you could write them an e-mail saying what you've written here and how you expect better from them.

I'm sure they read the blogs and the internet websites. It's going to make her day when she reads what I wrote about her....

Yes the rep. was lame, but the weekend news shows are as well. Generally, Technical and Talent are the bottom of the barrel. She at least referred people to the dod website.

How do you tell a fake SO (Special Warfare Operator), DIA, etc? If he tells you he's an active one or currently with an oga.

Would have been pretty easy for her to say that but think the old bag threw her off :)

Whoops, I forgot about getting my ass ripped by a knowledgeable few by mentioning Operator. Those that wish to make it an issue again, look it up, before embarrassing yourself...again.
