Not sure where to put this gents,

The old man must have listened to this dozens of times, that thousand yard stare coming over him. He says "I kinda want to be back there and I don't want to be there at all - all at the same time".

He reckoned some of you guys might understand that....

Dear Robin,

Although it is an American voice over it is not, in my opinion, an exaggeration. Everything the narrator says is true for me and for all NZ infantrymen that I know. I’m sure it will have special meaning for you too.

It is something we will always remember, especially when we hear the Huey's fly past. I hear them often both by day and at night as I sit in my home office here in Devonport near the Naval Yard. I shall miss them when they are eventually decommissioned. It would be good if some of us could be at their decommissioning ceremony.

Thank you and your Chopper Pilot colleagues for what you did for us.

Kind regards,

I'm willing to bet that, if you go to youtube and look for "Still in Saigon" by Charlie Daniels, you'll find it.

Some presentations hit deeper than others. For any not familiar with the song, probably a good idea you're alone the first time you listen.
