I know the rules say not to just post a link, but the article says it all.

Absolutely unbelievable, I'm at a loss for words.

Ray McGovern has been around for a while and went through many presidencies serving as an analyst at the CIA. Anyone on here know him and why would he be removed in such a fashion?

...why would he be removed in such a fashion

Arizona? Clinton? Descent under Obama is racism (under Bush it was patriotism)?

Pick your poison.

Notice he was wearing a "Veterans for Peace" T-shirt according to the article. Here is the "about" page on their website. Delete the "333"

Not advocating the treatment, but I'm also not jumping on the bandwagon to support an anti-war protester. Would also be interested to know the validity of his claims of 27 years of CIA service. I'm not saying it's false, but I don't assume every lame-brain that tells me they're SF or CIA or anything else is who they say they are.

Not the first time similar claims of abuse have been made by lefties arrested for protesting either:

"He said the officer then tightened the handcuffs and said, "It's not so funny now, is it, Jesus?" Blood seeped from a small cut on his wrist as he recalled the incident. "

I'm not saying his claims aren't real, but I would call them suspect.

Only one way to find out is to ask the CIA directly.

I find it interesting that it's not on a major network news site. If there had been people marching to the capital, it would have made news. State officials not showing up for a vote in their home state made news. But if someone is brutalized for protesting quietly, no one really cares..

With the focus being on the rapidly occurring events now taking place in the ME/Africa, I would imagine it is pretty difficult for the MSM to find much time for a normally 'slow news day' non-event such as Mr McGovern's being removed by security personnel from a forum at Georgetown.

It doesn't matter who he is or what his stance is, the point is that he was peacefully protesting at a speech advocating that right, and was forcefully removed while Clinton didn't even flinch.

He could have been wearing a NAMBLA shirt for all I care, it doesn't change anything IMO.

Descent under Obama...

One of the most accurate assessments I've read on this or any other board.;)

Here is what we know:

1) Law Enforcement officials charged with protecting a federal representative removed a man from a speaking event.

Everything else is speculation. McGovern's side of the story is the only one we're hearing. Being on a protective detail for somebody most of us have a strong dislike for does not mean these officers are automatically villains. The tapes don't show what happened until McGovern is resisting the officers escorting him out of the room and begins shouting "This is America!".

I wonder what Mr. McGovern's Hero, Julian Assange, would have to say about the situation?

We don't know what led up to the arrest. All I'm saying is I find his story suspect.
