'A weapon of mass destruction was found in the U.S.': Shock confession of Customs officer

A port official has admitted that a 'weapon of mass effect' has been found by 'partner agencies' in the U.S., raising major questions over a possible government cover-up.

The disturbing revelation came in an interview with San Diego's assistant port director screened by a television channel in the city.

The Customs and Border Protection Department tried to dampen speculation over his remarks, but doubts remained over whether he had inadvertently revealed a dirty bomb plot to attack the U.S. mainland.

Concern over a secret WMD bust came after U.S. cables made public by the Wikileaks whistleblower website revealed terror groups were plotting a 'nuclear 911.'
In the interview screened by San Diego’s 10News, Al Hallor, assistant San Diego port director, said ‘weapons of mass effect’ had been found, although he did not specify exactly where or what they were.
Reporter Mitch Blacher asked Mr Hallor: ‘Do you ever find things that are dangerous like a chemical agent or a weaponised device?’
‘At the airport, seaport, at our port of entry we have not this past fiscal year, but our partner agencies have found those things,’ the customs official replied.

‘So, specifically, you're looking for the dirty bomb? You're looking for the nuclear device?’ asked Mr Blacher.
‘Correct. Weapons of mass effect,’ said Mr Hallor.
‘You ever found one?’ asked Mr Blacher.
‘Not at this location,’ Mr Hallor said.
‘But they have found them?’ asked Mr Blacher.
‘Yes,’ said Mr Hallor.
‘You never found one in San Diego though?’ Mr Blacher asked.
‘I would say at the port of San Diego we have not,’ Mr Hallor said.
‘Have you found one in San Diego?’ Mr Blacher asked.
The interview was then interrupted and cut short by a public relations official before Mr Hallor was able to answer the question.
San Diego's Customs and Border Protection agency was unavailable for comment today....

We hadn’t heard a peep about this here in Los Angeles. The video tells it best.

BLUF - And Big Sis will tell us what he really said... And no - I'm not using pink either.

Open mouth and insert foot. The first thing the PAO always tells us is "you can't get in trouble with your mouth shut".

What defines a 'weapon of mass effect'?

A DHS advisor council's report in 2006, available here (http://www.dhs.gov/xlibrary/assets/hsac_wme-report_20060110.pdf), defined WMEs as follows. Weapons of mass effect, or WME, are weapons capable of inflicting grave destructive, psychological and/or economic damage to the United States. These include chemical, biological, nuclear, radiological, or explosive weapons.

Could Mr. Hallor be referring to something as simple as pipe bombs that would force that port (and potentially others) to shut down so that the facility (and others) could be searched thoroughly and thereby cause "grave...psychological and/or economic damage to the United States"?
[QUOTE=JJ_BPK;376209]And Big Sis will tell us what he really said...FWIW, my own take is that SecDHS and the current administration would disclose such discoveries if they were of significance. Doing so would allow them to argue, however speciously, that GWOT isn't a war at all but rather an issue requiring nothing more vigilant law enforcement.

My $0.02.

CBP's official response skirts the issue....

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials were quick to respond to Hallor's remarks.

"CBP has not specifically had any incidents with nuclear devices or nuclear materials at our ports of entry," a statement read.

Very poor definition. The entire Administration qualifies.

Pretty intersting. Seems that this type of report would not want to be made public, regardless of how much faith we have in DHS to keep us informed, due to the simple facts that a) it would let the public know that something did make its way into our borders thereby bringing into question the quality/success of the job DHS (and their partners) is/are doing, and b) cause a great deal of concern in the general public. Of course that is if this officer is to be believed, and from what I see and hear on the video, I'm one to say I believe.

I'd rather hear about them finding something significant than, well the bad side of the news in this case.

On a different note, I am interested to hear how this Port Authority Officers current days on the job are going.

I understand Mr. Hallor’s new position with the TSA is going quite well. He is responsible for inventorying snowballs at McMurdo Station, and chipping the ice off the web cam.
