Democratic Delegate quits Tea Party Caucus under pressure from Baltimore Democrats.

Delegate Curt Anderson tried to talk a walk outside the plantation but Master had him whipped and put back in the shed.

"Democratic Del. Curt Anderson, chairman of the Baltimore City delegation, resigned from the Tea Party Caucus in the Maryland House of Delegates after his fellow city delegates threatened to remove him as chair.

Anderson kept the city delegation chair post he has held for four years after he apologized profusely and got a tongue-lashing from his fellow Democrats, who said they were disappointed and disrespected by his action.

“My apologies to you for any embarrassment I might have caused by my action,” Anderson said. He said he still supported the Tea Party’s opposition to tax increases and for reduced government spending, “as long as their agenda remains fiscal,” not social policy

“The Tea Party was willing to accept me,” Anderson said, even appointing him vice chairman — though they were aware of his generally liberal position on social issues........."

and

".....Even the soft-spoken queen mother of the delegation, Del. Hattie Harrison, 84, told Anderson she was “really disappointed” in him.

“I don’t think we should replace you now,” Harrison said, but there will be an election at the end of the year, she said pointedly.

Del. Melvin Stukes was still “really ticked” at Anderson.

“You disrespected this whole delegation,” said Stukes. “I still feel that you should step down.”................."

Didn't you get the memo?

The 1st Amendment only applies to liberals.

I guessing the Democrats idea of diversity goes no further than skin color and doesn't allow for any independent thought. The liberal talking heads have been trying to make the case over the past 18 months that the GOP is becoming more and more conservative and anyone within the party who leaves the reservation is ostracized. I think the opposite is equally as true. Both parties are polarized. The only difference I suppose is that the GOP doesn't threaten the RINO's in their party into toeing the party line.

Yet.

I hope we never ever get to the point when the GOP leadership issues a public threat to an elected official for not being Conservative enough. I do readily admit that the GOP primary voters aren't that likely to be as forgiving but that's ok by me.

The first major political party to deliver sustainable solutions to the nation's greatest problems will be the dominant party for the next half century.

The losing party will be remembered as the one that preferred to be right rather than to get the job done right.

If the RINOs didn't have an (R-) by their names, it'd be tough to tell the difference between the parties. Snow and her like are more liberal than many dems.

What do you think the November sweep was all about? The constituency issued a public threat to vote the dumbasses out, and that's what they did.

Now let's keep our fingers crossed and hope the GOP has the collective cojones to do something with the win.

Like I said I have no problems with the voters enforcing orthodoxy on the party. I get uncomfortable when the party leadership has a litmus test for how members should think. If the electorate decided that they don't want a RINO but a Reagan conservative I'm fine with it. What I don't want to see is John Boehner threatening members of his caucus because he can't tolerate a difference of opinion.

Who would you rather have? A bossy Boehner, or the status quo?
