Folks,

I'd seen the following demonstration for user adjustable eyeglasses on TED ... http://www.ted.com/talks/josh_silver_demos_adjustable_liquid_filled_eyeglas ses.html

Being an eyeglasses wearer, and aging, I thought these might be a good thing to have on hand if/when an optometrist/lens lab might not be available. That lead me to the following find which included the adjustable eyeglasses, called Adspecs, and several other similarly handy items to consider from a Boonie/Disaster Preparedness standpoint.

Enjoy per http://www.thekopernik.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=56&Itemid=53

Penn,

Glad to help. However, it's not clear if one can place an order via that site. I've got an e-mail in via the "Contact Us" link for the site. I'll post here whatever I find out.

Take care,

Troy

Old glasses can be placed in a hard case and then put in a bug out bag.

The "adjust your own" types look interesting and it might be nice to have a set on hand but I wonder how durable they are and how cold weather changes the view.

Anyone who dresses that badly to ask for money in front of that many people, has to be the real deal...

You do not get the items, you help fund projects that then go into the developing world. Think Heifer international for technology.
