Does anyone have the link to one of the armed services branches that put out the video of the sternal I/O being placed? I think it was army and a short 20-30 second vid clip on it's placement...Any help would be appreciated.

Of course the next question is....does anyone have any experience with the device.

This will hopefully begin a thread of how to get fluids in, how much, how often and what kind of fluid (crystalloid vs. colloid or combo) under combat circumstances.

In GA our protocols do not allow for sternal IO. We are only allowed to go the IO route on peds(and that will be a lower extremity). Otherwise it is IV anywhere we can get one. Our standard is 18G or larger if blood products might be needed. IV's of smaller than 18G can be used if blood products are not going to be needed.
