Barbicambarus simmonsi: The new giant crayfish should not have been easily overlooked, as it is huge – twice the size of other species, the team at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Eastern Kentucky University said.

I have seen them on the Elk River below Lynchburg,TN. They swim sideways fast. I have fly fished that Elk River since the late 70's. I saw one caught by a local years ago. What amazes me is the speed they move. The ones I have seen are in the best trout stretch on that river. They are just above my favorite deep fast run that is full of trout . Maybe it is the moonshine caves three miles up that helps them grow?

When I drove a truck cross country years ago and traveled through Louisana I used to stop at the little places on the side of the highway for prawns & fries.
If that makes its way to my state, we are going to have some SERIOUS "Crawfish Boils" for the next family get-together.

That would be nice.. Saltwater bugs & shrimp are very sensitive to temp and salinity change, so is their food source(s).

Nah..... I'll take a 40# sack boiled as spicey as you can get em', simply dump over a the crawfish table. The table consists of 8x4 sheet of plywood with two 8" holes cut equidistant from each other and directly located over the 55 gallon trash cans. No clean up required other than hose off the "table top" and dump the cans. A few (or more) ICE cold beers and a football game in the background.
Damn... I'm hungry now.

Don't forget the corn, onions and potatoes with that. Also, some people I know even put mushrooms, brocolli and cauliflower in theirs. None of it is bad.
