All I can say is the "Free Health Care for life" I was promised sure costs alot each year - is getting more expensive - and is a whole new ball game at 65.

It was never free,, you paid for it with your blood...

IBM HAD the same promises,, and it also evaporated. We have had out-of-pocket costs exceed the 7.5% deductible level for the last 6-7 years.. A deduction I would rather not exercise..

But I don't want socialist medicine...

I really dislike it when people do not honor their commitments and promises. I did not serve for 20 or 30 and retire but those who did deserve what they were either implicitly or explicitly promised. I really don't care whether it is military health care or social security. A person pays in and then they should be able to expect the other party to honor the debt owed to them.
