Thanks for the link.
About the exhibit:
More than 15,000 paintings and sketches created by over 1,300 American soldiers in the line of duty have been in curatorial storage in Washington, D.C. for decades, seldom made available for public viewing. Art of the American Soldier will bring these powerful works of art into the spotlight at the National Constitution Center from September 24, 2010 through March 31, 2011. The exhibition, featuring a never-before-seen collection, was created by the Center in partnership with the U.S. Army Center of Military History and the National Museum of the United States Army. Following its world debut at the Center, the exhibition will begin a national tour.

That is totally cool. My grandfather was a professional artist virtually his entire life, but he also spent a year in France during WWI. He sketched virtually everything he laid his eyes on, so tomorrow I am going to go through some of the thousands of sketches I have of his and try to find some of his sketches from France for submission.
Thanks for the link.
Sweet... Great link, thanks for sharing it uplink!!

FWIW, seeing this motivated me to go scan some of the few pieces I have of my grandfather's art from WWI. I have submitted it to the online gallery for the Art of the American Soldier exhibit, but who knows whether it will be accepted.
Personally, I think it is totally cool, but I may be biased. Here are the scans in case anyone is interested:

Those are great pieces and should certainly be in the running. I bet the opening of this exhibit will bring untold numbers of great pieces out of the woodwork. I love it and can't wait to see the exhibit in DC. Thanks for adding your grandfathers works.....jd
Great LINK TY, I looked on the Home page but did not see anything about the possibilty of purchasing a print. Anyone have any info on that? Thanks

Just wanted to thank Uplink again for posting this link, I probably never would have known about the exhibit (strange, since I live near Philadelphia), but it gave me a chance to show off some of my grandfather's art that probably no one except he and my grandmother ever saw.
Just add it to the list of good things PS.com has done.

No thanks needed, I just stumbled upon it and knew it needed to be shared. I'm glad you were able to find it as rewarding as I did and were able to put your grandfathers art on there as well.
Can't wait to visit Washington again to see the exhibit....jd

Went to see the exhibit in Philly. It was definitely worth going to see these works the way they were meant to be seen. Additionally, the Constitution Center has a free iPhone App from which you can hear commentary from the artists and those who were there regarding select works.
