Army ranger named one of top three pastry chefs in world

The Atlantic Wire noted recently that the World Association of Chefs has named Master Sergeant Mark Morgan of the U.S. Army Rangers as one of the three best pastry chefs in the world.

The local newspaper of Fort Monroe, Va., where Morgan is based, reported the news. Morgan earned the distinction at the recent Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg, where he represented the U.S. culinary team and won two gold medals.

Morgan has also been honored in his day job as an Army Ranger. At some point during his six tours of duty--two in Iraq and four in Afghanistan--he was awarded the Bronze Star. He is currently the aide to General Martin Dempsey, who runs the Army Training and Doctrine Command, also known as TRADOC, at Fort Monroe.

LOL, NOT!

P&B (patisserie and baking) is tough, exacting work! Most are world class artists. My hats off to this guy!

Master Sergeant Mark Morgan of the U.S. Army Rangers you are the man!

Way to go, Chef Ranger...or Ranger Chef!

I fancy myself to be a pretty good cook...but baking!?!? I find it to be more akin to a chemistry lab class than cooking! :D

:D That could be because baking is more scientific...most often measurements must be quite exact. Cooking is more artistic.

Congrats to Master Sergeant Morgan!

A national restaurant chain serving foods from accross the world, made exclusively by SF and Ranger type.

The decor could look like team rooms, ISOFAC, villages, village elder - tea meetings, etc.

Patisserie is truly an art form, as TS expertly said. ;)

It is something that is not aquired over a short period of time, but rather at length, after much pain and suffering over ounces and pounds, and recipies that are so layered, a normal person would pull their hair out just trying......BTDT!

Holly....Congrats to MS Morgan!!! Kick some ass Sir!:lifter
