Go about half way down the page and watch the video of the collapse from the inside.

After more than 20 inches of snow fell last night the Dome just couldn't take it. The same storm system grounded the NY giants in Kansas City. The match up between the Vikes and Giants will air on monday night.

On the positive side, the storm brought with it an excellent opportunity to get some cool weather PT this morning. It was about 0' Fahrenheit (about -20' for people who count wind chill), perfect for us shovel "operators." :D

They are so lucky that didn't happen during a Game.

Yep, but early placed heaters would have been just fine too.

Maintiance workers probably saying, "Yep, should have put those heaters up last night. We suggested it, but boss didn't want to pay for overtime. Overtime seems cheaper now".

"The damage makes the Dec. 20 Monday Night Football game between Chicago and Minnesota -- also scheduled for the Metrodome -- a real question mark. It's not likely that the stadium will be repaired in time for that game."

No sh*t, Dick Tracy!

First thing I thought of when I heard this morning. If you didn't get crushed by several tons of snow, you might have been trampled by the mad rush of humanity trying to exit the building.

The black forms on the field during the ceiling collapse, people?

I don't believe those were people. If they were, I would think they would have made some sort of attempt to get away. As they remained stationary, I'm thinking tackling sleds. On the far sideline you see a medical cart high-tailing it out of there.

Had a freak snowstorm hit in NC while building an elementary school, besides "propane" heaters running full tilt, we were shoveling our a-- off!:lifter

Stay safe.

I would hate to guess how much snowload the engineers plan for when building in Minnesota. Whatever it was, I guess it wasn't enough.

You'd think they would have learned after the THIRD failiure from snow loads.
