At least they're not the Bills. You finally accept that this isn't your year and you'll be getting a good draft pick. Then they decide to play like men and win a few in a row. Add in three OT game losses (all by a field goal). This season isn't good for your heart, regardless of your age.
BTW, why can't former Patriots leave old habits behind? :D
NO comment.

What do the Broncos, Nuggets, Rockies, and Colorado Avalanche all have in common?
A: None of them play professional sports.

McDaniels! And that is all I am going to say about that.
My perspective is this...Bowlen has had the advantage of a loyal and avid fan base during his tenure as owner...he has taken that for granted...he hired an inexperienced (cheap), immature coach with questionable credentials...Bowlen is willing to be patient as he does not want to pay three head coaches...I doubt that he'll be very patient IF revenues drop off at the stadium...if the ticket holders quit showing for games, quit paying for drinks and snacks at the game, quit paying for parking at the stadium, IF Bowlen feels some pain in his pocketbook, McHoodie will be gone...that remains to be seen...

Just reported that Josh McDaniels has been fired as head coach for the Broncos.
Josh McDaniels fired as Broncos coach
Posted Dec 06, 2010
The Broncos have fired coach Josh McDaniels, the team confirmed today. McDaniels was fired in part because the Broncos had fallen to a 3-9 record, but also because of the integrity hits the franchise received following its video tape scandal.
Broncos video coordinator Steve Scarnecchia was caught video taping the San Francisco 49ers walkthrough practice on Oct. 30 in London. McDaniels was aware of the incident, but never reported it to the team. He was fined $50,000 and the team was fined an additional $50,000.
The team will announce an interim coach soon.

I think Steve hit the nail right on the head.
Kubiak would be welcomed with open arms. The city LOVES him. For him to sit in the "shadow" of Elway the whole time he was here and NOT complain, speaks volumes to the masses. He knows the front office, he knows the team (or what's left of it), and most of all he knows Denver.

I don't suppose Red Miller is still around?
I wouldn't trade the old Cardiac Kids for anything ( I think they still hold the record for winning more games in the last 2 min. of course they didn't always win then.) It still warms my heart to see Tom Jackson, an old clip of fans welcoming Mean Joe Green into the locker room at half time and of course there is always Orange Sunday. Thats great!
Well with the return of John Elway to the front office next week (or year) going to be a good thing?? Most Bronco fans feel Elway is still apart of the team even tho he hasn't step foot on the field since 1998.
For me this is a good move.
Now what to do with Tebow? Will it turn into Tebow vs Cutler?
What will move these Broncos?? a new QB or a new Head Coach or an old QB filling in at the front office??
Aww what will the new year bring.......

Maybe the Jets should shut up and play football....
Yeah [the option can work] if you have Michael Vick and, I don’t know, Chris Johnson at running back. Yeah it can work. Those are probably the two fastest guys that can probably get out on the edge on you.”
[The Broncos defense] can get boring and figured the biggest problem the Jets’ secondary would face is “not to fall asleep.

Does anyone else think the widespread resentment of Tim Tebow is rooted in his outspoken Christian beliefs? It is evident from the NFL message boards and some articles I have read that many people (especially fans) are hoping he fails as a quarterback or even gets hurt in the process. Of course, criticism of his throwing mechanics is legitimate and he certainly has to improve greatly as a passer if he is to be Denver's franchise quarterback. Nevertheless, it just seems as though his commitment to his faith bothers a lot of people. I think it is wonderful that an athlete is as humble as he is and always thanks God and his teammates rather than giving himself the glory. You certainly don't have to be a Christian to applaud his conduct.

MOO, the ongoing backlash against Tebow is because Tebow wants to be the guy but he's not yet shown he's willing to do the work to be the guy. Those in the know have been talking about his throwing mechanics since 2008. Three years later, they're still talking. (One would think that at some point, a humble man would seek out one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL and say "Joe, teach me to throw.")
My $0.02.
FWIW, at the conclusion of all NFL games, players from both teams gather at midfield and kneel in prayer.

I would argue that Tebow has been working extra hard, but at this point it's a question of can he be a successful passer, not whether is willing to do what it takes. Coming from a Florida offense that ran the option, his abilities were utilized within that particular scheme, hence why he isn't your prototypical pocket QB. For now, Elway isn't exactly giving him the vote of confidence that he'll be the indefinite starter for the Broncos, despite his recent success. And pretty soon, defenses will adjust to the option and, as a result, he will be forced to attempt more passes. Elway has also stated that he hasn't had too much time to actually sit down with Tebow and give him some good advice, but that will certainly happen in the offseason.
I am not a Broncos fan but I really hope he succeeds. Although I do confess that while I am a Christian believer, I am not particularly wild about him or others wearing their faith so boldly on their sleeve because it often leads to a negative perception about Christians as being holier-than-thou people, especially if they slip up. But more power to him and I am thrilled that he is winning games thus far. Just my opinion though.
"One aspect of Tebow's game that already has translated to the NFL is his work ethic. He arrives at the practice facility at 5:45 a.m. to lift weights before meetings, and doesn't leave until about 8:30 p.m. When the players run suicide sprints after practice, Tebow finishes first every time.
"It kind of makes everybody work when you see your quarterback work the way he does," said defensive end Jarvis Moss, who was Tebow's teammate at UF in 2006. "You're like, 'Man, does this guy ever get tired or ever think about quitting, or shorting himself on reps?' Naw, never."
While his teammates end practice with a prayer circle - an activity that Tebow usually would help lead - he instead is throwing at least 100 balls with coaches or teammates, working on his reads, timing and mechanics. He is always the last player off the field."

What can you say? You have a coach that wants to run the ball and a QB that doesn't care about his statistics...
I thought this one from WSJ was funny:
What Tim Tebow Can't Do (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203833104577070351117638504.html?K EYWORDS=tim+tebow)
He cannot fly. He cannot see through walls. He cannot talk to the animals, not even cats. He's never picked up an automobile and tossed it across the road. He's failed to publish poetry in Russian. He can't explain Ryan Reynolds.
These are just a few of the many things Tim Tebow can't do.
Every day we are reminded of more things Tim Tebow can't do. He cannot throw a proper pass. He cannot stand still in the pocket. He can't run a conventional offense. He runs, but he doesn't run gracefully. He runs upright and frantic. He runs like he's stealing a toaster from the mall.
He's a cavalcade of failures. Why the Denver Broncos give him a paycheck, nobody knows.
Because Tim Tebow never lets you relax. He never puts a football game away in the first quarter. He forces you to watch the whole thing, with commercials and no fast-forwards. It's never pretty.
He doesn't put up Tom Brady's numbers. He doesn't put up Tom Brokaw's numbers. He's not impressing Broncos legend John Elway. John Elway acts as if he'd let the Broncos bus abandon Tim Tebow at a rest stop.
"Oh, where's Tim?" John Elway would say forty miles down the road. "Hmmm, that's too bad."
You can see why Elway's unconvinced. Tim Tebow can't do it the normal way. Tim Tebow can't get through an interview without mentioning his faith. Or giving credit to his teammates. Tim Tebow never sounds full of Tim Tebow.
He doesn't even get mad when people say nasty things about him. When people say Tim Tebow needs to improve, Tim Tebow says he needs to improve. Who does that?
Nothing seems to rattle him. He smiles and doesn't sulk. When Tim Tebow is bummed, he doesn't pull down the blinds, blast the Fleetwood Mac and drink red wine out of a Mason jar, like everybody else does. He's a total weirdo.
Do you know what else Tim Tebow has never done?
Tim Tebow has not climbed all Seven Summits. He's never built an invisible jet or hosted the Country Music Awards. If he has solved the mystery of Loch Ness, or washed dishes at The French Laundry, it's never been written about. Tim Tebow's portrait does not hang in the Louvre. Sandra Bullock has never made a Tim Tebow movie. Tim Tebow has never made a Sandra Bullock movie.
Sure, Tim Tebow has been on the cover of Sports Illustrated, but has he been on the cover of Dwell or Bon Appetit? That's right: no. Loser!
Do you know that Tim Tebow has never hosted a late-night talk show in Denmark? That he's never been the CEO of The Gap? That he wasn't a serious candidate to be manager of the Red Sox? Tim Tebow has never won a professional motocross race. He's never even come in second in a professional motocross race. Tim Tebow did zero to solve the NBA lockout. Zilch.
Here is a small list of other things Tim Tebow has never won:
Wimbledon, a MacArthur "Genius" grant, "Project Runway," "The Price is Right," the Nathan's Famous hot dog eating contest, the Booker Prize or a Grammy for best spoken-word album.
That's embarrassing. Why do people care about him?
Yes, Tim Tebow beat the Miami Dolphins, the Oakland Raiders, the Kansas City Chiefs, the New York Jets and the Chargers of San Diego. But Tim Tebow has not beaten the Detroit Lions. Or the Detroit Pistons. Or the Detroit Red Wings. Or Manny Pacquiao. Or Dara Torres. Or Real Madrid. Or Gary Kasparov.
Tim Tebow doesn't fight the law, but if he did, the law would surely win. Okay, maybe not.
Despite all of these issues, people still like Tim Tebow, which is mystifying. It's as if they can't recognize his flaws. They're blinded by hype. They're willfully ignorant. They want to believe in a myth.
One day they will see all of Tim Tebow's shortcomings. How he's never once sang O Canada at a Vancouver Canucks game. How he's never captured a live dinosaur. How he's too chicken to run for President.
Tim Tebow never, ever makes everybody happy. He can't really do anything besides win football games. Since when did anyone care about that?
...a QB that doesn't care about his statistics...
Tebow seems to know that as a pro the only stat that really counts is that "W."
Hopefully, this magic run of his continues.

All the Tebow hype finally got the better of me.
Growing up in Colorado, I can't escape the references from friends and family.
Actually, one of the references was rather funny.
Called a friend in Denver right before the Detroit game and he said he was getting ready to watch "lions eating christians" on Fox. :D
Don't have cable at home, so I meandered down to the Dam Bar and Grille in time for the second half yesterday.
That was genuinely fun to watch.
Quit watching football 10 years ago.
Denver has brought me back.
They're just too entertaining.

THAT has to be one of the funniest stories I've seen about T.T. :D:D:D
One other thing I've found funny about this whole story being played out, out here is .....
When I moved out here back in '84, the Broncos had a QB out of Stanford, just starting his 2nd year with the Broncos. I thought (at that time) he wasn't the greatest QB. He needed quite a bit of "seasoning" to even make it in the NFL. I didn't like how he was constantly at odds with the Coach (Dan Reeves) and how he blamed the losses on almost everyone but himself. I used to refer to him as the "Super Brat", and most of the city, if not the state, couldn't stand him. There was even talk, back then, about possibly trading him to another team .... but no one would take him.
But later on, he is now regarded as the Bronco's "Messiah", and when he left (retired from the field) there was a cry that went up unto the football Gods, for the return (ie ... 2nd coming) of the Messiah. And the football Gods heard the cries of his children from the land of the Mile High, and sent T.T. .... (mostly to shut us up), because he, like most of the rest of us, got tired of the crying and bitching.
Back when the 1st Messiah was on the gridiron, the Broncos were affectionately known as, "The Cardiac Kids" .... now here is the 2nd coming, or so some would believe it to be, they are once again being referred to as "The Cardiac Kids".
T.T.'s WINS haven't been "pretty", but hey .... It IS fun to watch he and the rest of the Donkeys get that "W".
It seems to me, that their is an aire of "Jealously" from the 1st Messiah.

As for Tebow, his winning is probably bad for the Broncos long-term, unless they decided to invest completely and turn their offense into a college-style system.

Tebow plays conservatively early in the game, trusts his defensive teamates, keeps it close and tries to reduce errors...just like he's told to do.
There are terms for that: coachability, team player, etc.

I don't disagree at all. In fact, I have a deep respect for him as a team player and locker-room leader. He inspires others. I just don't think he has the talent/potential to be a top 10 quarterback in the league in the conventional sense (think Rodgers, Brady and Manning(s)). If your goal is to win a Super Bowl, I think you need one of those Top 10 quarterbacks, IMO.
If the defense isn't good enough during one week, and Tebow has to lead his team back from a multiple score deficit (14 points or more), I would not expect him to win. All of these games have been very close going into the fourth.

Well it appears that Belichick is singing Tebow's praises, though that is to be expected since the Broncos are the Patriots' next opponent. He had dinner with Tebow before the 2010 draft, which is evidently a sign that NE is one of the teams that could've picked up Tebow in the 2nd or 3rd round had McDaniels not drafted him with the 25th pick. In looking towards this matchup, it should also be noted that Tom Brady is 1-6 (including the playoffs) all-time against Denver. In fact, to my knowledge the Broncos are the only team that he has a losing record against! It should be a heck of game and I predict the Pats squeak out the W.

However I really just lost all respect for Rothlesburger as a man and a player...as I saw him walk straight off the field...Be a man and congratulate the winning QBThere's ass & there's class, and as you know they're easily discernible. Especially in High Def...

The Saints already winning the game, showed a lot of class last night by having Drew take the knee rather than pile on another 6 points at the close of the game...........;) :D

I'll never watch another professional football game again - ever - after their money grubbing ursupation of any traditional New Year's Day college bowl games this year.

Yes that was weird, though at least in the pro's they share some of the money with the players. Tebow vs Brady should be great. Former CAL Bear Aaron Rodgers humbly having an MVP season as well!:lifter
Denver airport openly trolls Steelers fans
By MJD
Imagine being a Steelers fan that made the trip to Denver for the wild-card game between the Steelers and Broncos. You sat there in the cold, watching your team struggle for three hours, only to tie the game at the end of regulation and give you hope … until Tim Tebow crushed all your hopes and dreams with one flick of his golden wrist.
All you want to do is lick your wounds and get back home, where you can make sense of what just happened. You get to the airport, your head down, just wanting to sleep and drink the memories away on that long flight, but as you get to the gate, you're greeted with this:
A message greeting Steelers fans on their flight out of Denver
Oh, that's low, United (snicker).
I guess a little bit of gloating goes with the territory. I know many Steelers fans, and they are not the shy, shrinking violet type. I'm sure the locals at the Denver airport heard their share of trash talk as the Terrible Towels paraded into town. Just one more little indignity to take with them on the way home.

Very young quarterback to the second round....not bad in the end....
Let's see what Tim learns in the off season. There were flashes of "ugly" last night.
That one hurt, and I am not a Broncos fan.
The game was the best playoffs game in YEARS, it was a great game to watch. Losing sucked tho!!! Manning contributed to lose it, but Denver's Secondary lost it mainly IMO. I think Champ Bailey & Rahim Moore SUCKED at stopping Raven receivers and they lost it more than Manning fell. Manning declined the post game interview, what a sore loser. He has always been a cry baby, my HH6 hated him for that at Indy.
Next year now.

Yeah, IMO, the defense did loose it. They looked stiff out there. Sure I know it was cold out there, but they just didn't seem to be "clicking". There were several times that they were adjusting the Ravens offense and they were running back and forth not knowing who to cover or who at what assignment. Not like them at all. Coverage seemed like it wasn't there. They were playing too far off the receivers and when there were close up to them, they didn't disrupt the receivers patterns or routes. They were just not sharp.
Manning wasn't as sharp as he was during the regular season and the missed field goal early on, hurt as well. If it wasn't for Holliday's two run backs, that game would have been a blow out.
MtnGoat ... as you said, "Nest year now", and as someone brought up in another thread about the '97 Jacksonville loss, the following year the Broncos did go to the Superbowl .... and WIN. :D
