IMO, one of the biggest problems of creeping Sharia is Zakat. It is a colossal problem due to the fact numerous companies are scrambling all over themselves to get onboard with Sharia-Compliance. IMO, Sharia-Compliant finance is enigmatic because of the lack of transparency surrounding Zakat payments. Most if not all Sharia-Compliant firms facilitate Zakat payments for their clients and there are ample scenarios in which Zakat payments have made their way to those fighting for Allah.

Under laws established by the late Yasser Arafat when the Palestinian Authority took control of Bethlehem in 1995, only a Greek Orthodox or Catholic Christian can be mayor of Bethlehem, so Hamas could not field its own candidate. No problem! Hamas simply installed a “Christian” ally, Walid Victor Batarseh, 70, an atheist and Marxist from the radical Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
Batarseh replaces Hanna Nasser, a moderate Christian who supported peaceful coexistence with Israel. By contrast, Batarseh is suspected of involvement in terrorist activities. His attorney is a member of Hamas and his organization, the PFLP, was behind the assassination of Israeli Cabinet Minister Rehavam Ze’evi, who was gunned down in Jerusalem in 2002. “This was legitimate retaliation for Israeli state terror,” said Batarseh.
In short, Hamas controls Bethlehem.

I was going to visit Bethlehem when I was in Jerusalem last week but changed my mind when I found I would have to pay a 'fee' to the Palestinian Authority to enter there. This didn't stop literally bus loads of visitors (mostly Western Christians) I saw lining up to go into there, though.
Now - is an American visiting Bethlehem who is giving $$ support to a terrorist organization by paying that fee in violation of the current anti-terrorist legislation?
And so it goes...

Sorry about that. I did a couple different searches but couldn't find anything on the report. I'll have to work on my search-fu.
Despite how hopelessly lost our senior political and national security "leadership" has been on the central security questions of the post-9/11 age (ie. who is our enemy, what do they believe, what are their political goals and corresponding tactics and strategies), it is heartening to see a group of authoritative experts produce a work like this challenging the conventional idiocy. Maybe there is hope for us yet.

That is a good question. I doubt most western Christians even know what that fee is for. And I doubt seriously that they are even told when they pay the fee. If they knew, would they get off the bus and say "no, nope, not gonna pay it. I'll wait right here for you all to come back!".

I wouldn’t feel right about going…
I would say yes for those who know what‘s going on in the area, like say the International Solidarity Movement, and no for those who don’t. :confused:

Two RN’s I work with will be going to Jerusalem soon and I advised them not to visit Bethlehem for this very reason… Hamas controls Bethlehem...

Recent research indicates that in many mosques across the country the overthrow of the U.S. Constitution is being encouraged in the printed material offered on-site or in the textbooks used in children’s classes, if not directly from the Friday pulpit.
In addition, the 2008 Holy Land Foundation trial in Dallas, Texas provided evidence that the majority of Islamic organizations in America are affiliates of or associated with the Muslim Brotherhood in some way and many of them are raising funds for jihad. The convictions in that case make clear that such behavior is not protected by the First Amendment. And yet, American elites still deal with shariah as just a religious system, when in fact it is as totalitarian a political program as ever were those of communism, fascism, national socialism, or Japanese imperialism.
