Soldier becomes second woman to set national high-powered rifle record

FORT BENNING, Ga. (WTVM) – A U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit soldier becomes the first service member since 1987 to win the National High Power Rifle Championship.

Sgt. Sherri Jo Gallagher set a new national record in the match with a 2396-161x, dropping only four shots during the entire competition. She shot 21 more bulls eyes than anyone else. ....................."

Congratulations Sgt. Gallagher! There's going to be a lot of bruised egos and lost sleep in the competitive marksmanship ranks - cause a GIRL just smoked them like cheap cigars. In all fairness, marksmanship - all disciplines - is a sport where there is no need for seperate catagories for females. To misquote - "God created men, Sam Colt made them equal." (We'll overlook the lifetime of dedication and a family history of excellence and support that helped her along the way. :p)
