It is so nice to see local LEOs & Prosecutors that care enough to get involved.

Four men accused of posing as nonprofit employees seeking donations for disabled veterans, Tuesday, September 14, 2010, 8:57 PM

When a man last month came to his door asking for donations for a nonprofit organization, Jerry Heckman got a gut feeling that something wasn't right.

The man, Heckman said, handed him a note that said he was an Iraq war veteran who could not speak because he had been shot in the throat. But Heckman, 47, said he noticed the man didn't have a scar.

"I wanted to give him money," said Heckman, who lives just outside Beaverton. "But I just knew something was wrong."

Heckman said he decided to flip through a binder the man was carrying and found a phone number for the organization the man said he was representing.

"He started to shake, so I knew something was up," he said.

Remember the "Federal" judge said that impersonating a soldier hurts "no one". This is not a crime. Want to bet what defense they use in a court of law, freedom of speech....

I guess the federal judges don't care about fake soldiers scamming people out of their hard earned money.

Here in So. Cal. there's a suspicious person collecting charitable contributions for some dubious charity outside every exit of every Market. It's annoying. I personally never give as I believe they are all in the same category of these douche bags in the above story.

Hmmm...Freedom of Speech...for a guy who, according to the story, couldn't speak because of being shot in the throat.

Comments on aim? About eight inches too low.

JJ_BPK,
That xray reminds me of an event told by one of our EMT's about a guy from another town who came to our ER to have a vibrator removed from his bowel. Seems that the switch was still on and the batteries charged. The ER Docs and Nurses were LTAO because evertime the guy opened his mouth to talk, they could hear it hum! But, I digress from the topic.
