SPRINGFIELD — Effingham County sheriff deputies have reported the early Sunday morning arrest of three men to the federal Joint Terrorism Task Force.
The men, two from Russia and one from Kazakhstan, were found near Georgia Power’s Plant McIntosh on Old Augusta Road about 1 a.m. Sunday after a ranger with the Department of Natural Resources reported a suspicious vehicle, Effingham County sheriff’s spokesman David Ehsanipoor said.
Deputies reported the men, who were inside a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder, had a machete, shovel, wire cutters and ski masks. One man also had black silk stockings in his front left pocket.
Arrested were Evgeniy Luzhetskiy, of Kazakhastan Nail Idiatullin and Rustem Ibragimov of Russia. All three reported they lived in Charleston, S.C., deputies reported.
The men were all charged with possession of tools during the commission of a crime.
The three were released after being interviewed by task force members, Ehsanipoor said.
"They did all have visas that allowed them to be here and are supposed to be leaving the country soon."

South Carolina has four nuclear plants within the state with another just across the border in North Carolina and one just across the border in Georgia. This doesn't count the nuke weapons plant on the SC/GA border. If anyone were looking to send a nuclear message, I would not be surprised they would select this region. I hope this administration will conduct an in-depth investigation into these individuals and their friends.

First thing I thought when I read that. There is no way the feds are just letting these guys walk without some kind of surveillance. I'm sure any kind of correspondence the three of them have is being monitored as well.

No you're right, the "FEDS" could never be that stupid or incompetent, and we know that they are involved in really important cases such as banning a UK teenager for life from entering the United States for calling a moron a moron.
FBI Seeks Man Indicted for Distributing Child Porn

PHOENIX - The FBI is searching for a Phoenix pediatrician who has fled from home confinement days after being indicted for distributing child pornography.
Dr. Emilio Luna was arrested last Wednesday by federal agents. He was granted pretrial release Thursday that stipulated confinement to his Sun City home with electronic monitoring.
FBI officials say the 40-year-old Luna was allowed to attend church services Sunday afternoon. His abandoned vehicle was found Sunday night by police in a Glendale parking lot with bolt cutters and the monitoring device inside the car.

Richard just might be right....however, maybe these 3 Russians are Muslim and the feds are afraid to insult them, so they "let them go". Or these 3 are actually agents of the Joint Terrorism Task Force probing the security of the power plants.
