It's been reported that Ms. Childs has passed away, due to kidney failure, at the rip old age of 92.

I thought it appropriate to place this here in the Gourmet Guerrilla. From one Chef to another and all that......

Sad day indeed. I just saw her not to long ago on the Sara Moulten show. She is the one I would say started the trend of cooking shows IMHO. God Bless Her.

Rest In Peace.

She downplayed her experiences, but she apparenlty did some very good work for the OSS.

Wow !!! She worked for the OSS. That's incredible.

The one thing that I'll always remember about her, was the parody that Dan Akaroyd did of her on SNL...."I've cut the Dickins out of my thumb." Something that has truely made it into the American Lexicon.:D

Her OSS duty included overseas assignments. She was also 6'2" tall. She was a great American. Rest in Peace Lady.

That was the first thing I said to me wife when I heard she was gone.

"I seem to have cut myself, rather badly!!"
