Nightfall

Sirs,
I am proud and privilaged to annouce that I ship out for OSUT in January. I attempted to get 18X however, even with a 94 ASVAB and straight 1's for PULHES code, I was only offered 92F, 88M, 13F, and a couple of others in similar vein - even a cook MOS. I attempted to hold out for 18X but in the end opted for 19D with option 4 (I suppose Airborne was their consolation prize). I like the idea of the Scout's multifaceted MOS, I'm very excited. Hopefully it will prepare me more for 18 series than pumping gas (not to knock any of those respective MOS's, they just weren't a fit for me). Either way, thanks to everyone for their insight and even the occasional flames. This is one of the most informative sites I've found. Can't wait to get to Knox then Benning in the early Summer. The part I look forward to least is being away from the wife and daughter, but sacrifices are part of it. Hopefully in a year or so I'll be able to attend selection. In the meantime, as you gentlemen often point out, I will be focusing on the 25M and take it day by day and give the Cav 110%. I'll be proud to be a Cav Scout (well once I graduate). In the meantime, I'm training with the ROTC (I'm not ROTC though)guys at my college, doing PT at home, and some more for other classes in school. PT, PT, PT.....
Thanks again... Wish I could leave tomorrow.
