Glad he's OK

That, that wasn't WM was it?:munchin

I haven't seen the show; were the jumpers that close together, and trying to split the flag poles? I don't think there'd be much chance for recovery if a quick gust got you at that point.

Just saw this on the local news...

Skydiver gets stuck on pole at Rangers Ballpark
No injuries during mishap before baseball game

ARLINGTON, Texas - Just a bit outside.

A U.S. Army skydiver was left dangling on a flagpole at Rangers Ballpark after his parachute got entangled during a pregame jump Tuesday night.

The Rangers said the unidentified jumper was uninjured after he unbuckled himself from the chute and dropped a few feet to a work platform on top of the scoreboard, the highest point of the stadium. The jumper could been seen walking away while his parachute whipped in the wind for several more minutes before being removed by stadium workers, who arrived quickly.
------------------------

I wonder if his teammates have come up with a new nickname for him yet like "Flag Call" or "Pole Magnet". Man, that's gotta be embarrassing.

Twins 3 - Rangers 4
Texas (71-54) Minnesota (72-54), both teams still leading their conferences.
7 Runs, 15 hits, 2 Errors, 11 Left on base, No one Left in the lights.
Pretty good game all round.

Rangers Ballpark Flagpole Catches Skydiver
NBCKDFW, 24 Aug 2010

Just a bit outside.

A U.S. Army skydiver was left dangling on a flagpole at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington after his parachute got entangled during a pregame jump Tuesday night.

The skydiver was among several members the U.S. Army Parchute Team known as the Golden Knights who jumped on the breezy night. The rest landed on the field.

I will be there Thursday, and hope the results are different. I guess I picked the wrong night to go. I would have rather seen the Golden Knights.

Many remember where Bronze Bruce was back in the old days, in the little Plaza by the SF Museum and White House (Now kinda' Tan House).

Demo Teams used to jump in there all the time. They had planted some trees around the edge and each year they kept getting taller and taller. Getting over the trees and into the Plaza got harder and harder.

Add in the crowd on folding chairs sitting in front - the best approach angle and it was a crap shoot on if you could make it in. More than one jumper kicked his way through the tops of the trees.
