Unopened spam-can .30-06 in 8-rd clips

Just bought a Springfield 1903 from a mechanic friend. He also has a spam-can (unopened) of .30 Cal Ball. Anyone interested pls PM. The can is labeled:

"192 CARTRIDGES
CAL .30 BALL M2
8 RD CLIPS
BANDOLIERS
LOT HXP4070-78"

There's no mention of this being Greek manufactured, but I'm not an expert on that. CMP lists the Greek LOT at $96/spam-can, but I'm not convinced it's Greek ammo.

There is also Korean Manufactured ammo like that (mine have Korean markings on the can). Greek is really good stuff from the CMP shooters that I have talked too. Some fell it is better than LC. I have some Greek, good stuff.

Congradulations on the Springfield buy. They are an American classic. If it's a low serial number M1903 and not an A3 you might want to check your numbers to make sure it's safe to shoot.

Good suggestion, mojaveman, and I intend to do that before I take it to the range. Serial number is low (235188). I found a forum with a detailed article re: 1903 receiver failures.
