While I think it is unlucky it is certainly better than not even being mentioned. :D

Coaches vote Tide overwhelming No. 1
TYSONS CORNER, Va. -- Defending national champion Alabama is No. 1 atop the USA Today preseason coaches' poll.
Boise State will begin the season ranked No. 5. The Broncos, like Alabama, finished last season 14-0. They beat TCU in the Fiesta Bowl.
The Crimson Tide got 55 of 59 possible first place votes. The other four went to Ohio State, which is No. 2 in the newspaper's ranking
"I don't think it means a whole lot," Alabama coach Nick Saban said of the ranking.
"[Preseason polls] are based on what you accomplished last year. I don't think what we did last year will help us win this year."
Florida is third, followed by Texas, which lost to Alabama in the BCS title game in January.
Virginia Tech was sixth, followed by TCU, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Iowa to round out the top 10.
Nos. 11-15 are Oregon, Wisconsin, Miami, Penn State and Pittsburgh. They were followed by LSU, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Arkansas and Florida State, which will be without Bobby Bowden as coach for the first time in 35 years.
Georgia is No. 21, Oregon State No. 22, Auburn No. 23 and Utah and West Virginia tied for No. 24.
The coaches' poll is part of the BCS formula used to determine its national champion.

Bad luck to be preseason No. 1.
Just remember, adversity makes you stronger.

I'm trying to get Alabama at Arkansas tickets as we speak. SEC football is great.

In that case, USC should be the strongest team of all...
Go Hokies!

That is a good game every year. Good luck. :)
I picked 'Bama to win the National Championship last preseason, however this year I'm going going out on a limb and selecting one of my favorites...Texas Tech
I like the Tar Heels more than TT, but I'll probably have to wait for lacrosse season for them to have any hope at a National Title.

That went very well. I think they even let some of the marching band members suit up and play.
Next up on the schedule will be Northern Alabama Appalachian Community College. :D

As a Penn State fan, that was painful to watch. At least we got to see Paterno and Bowden on the same field again during pregame.

I am going to enjoy it while I can.
Next year the young Penn State quarterback will have some experience and the game will be in happy valley. I might not enjoy next years game so much.
Its ok Richardson will still be there to carry 4 or 5 Penn State defensemen on his back. ;):lifter
Richardson is definitely a beast. He's just as good with yards after contact as Ingram. :lifter
Sorry guys, Ohio State will be crushing Alabama this year along with every other team they play :munchin

Though they beat my 'Canes, I have to say that OSU didn't thrash them - as they should have will all the mistakes the 'Canes made (and getting 'homered' on that first TD attempt, which was clearly pass interfence, since the DB never once look back at the ball and had his hands on the receiver... IN the end zone!)
Too early in the season to tell anything just yet. YMMV

As I recollect there was some other person who made a similar remark. Maybe it was a guy by the name of Tim Tebow. Last I saw of him, tears were running down his face. :D

Both in the weight room and on the field. Richardson-Ingram reminds me of McFadden-Felix Jones when they were playing for Arkansas.

He definately reminds me of McFadden, I just hope when Ingram goes pro he has more success.

death to the BCS, IMHO
Garcia had the game of his life IMHO. Although when he threw the ball out of the endzone for no reason that wasn't so good ;):p
That combined with Greg deciding he was going to hold on to the ball and force plays led to our loss. But don't count us out yet.
death to the BCS, IMHO
Agreed, and Garcia will never play that well again.
