as a union carpenter with 30 yrs. of experience with nail guns and saw blades
I'll wager a case of good quality brew that its all bogus except maybe the tape measure throw. The portrait/nail gun is really a laugh.

PS. I see that those carpenters are not in whites so they are non-union, possibly not trained
properly, are lacking in work ethics screwing off making vids while more than likely on the clock. :)

Watch the pic being made - the nails are filling in on the panel much faster than the "artist's" finger is moving on the trigger of the nail gun and there are times when several lines are being drawn at the same time.

I call BS!

But it is interesting to contemplate someone doing something like that. ;)

Richard's $.02 :munchin

I'd say photo-shop,, but I know they don't use it on video clips???

Do we have anyone from AP news?? They do a lot of this type of video..

I think they are all cool videos, but like Richard, I noticed that the nail gun artist's finger was moving significantly slower than what was showing upon the board. Also toward the end of the first video, when the mouth appears on the Mona Lisa, it looks as if the nail gun is pointed towards the lower part of the board, even though the mouth is on the upper part of the board.

In the last video it looks like the saw blade doesn't even go through the wood completely, it just skips off the top. And I'm no film critic, but it sure seemed like they were acting.

Fake or not, I enjoyed them. I hope they come out with more! :munchin

Are you saying that because they are probably non-union is the reason you think they are possibly not trained properly and are lacking in work ethics by screwing off on the job?

I agree that all these vids, with the possibe exception of the tape measure throw, are completely bogus.

in our area non union are generally less qualified and do some really crazy stuff
but the boys in white by NO means are perfect. This is all changing very quickly
and the way I see it the only hopes the carpenters union has is to be propped up
by their political cronies. When left to stand on their own feet they will fall.
My particular craft will do just fine either way. I am not pro union.

1. Nails from Nail Gun has a tendency to tumble in flight and bounce off a surface when shot from distance, especially roofing nails (which is what he is using). The shorter nail tend to tumble in flight, thus less accurate.

2. Nail guns generally do not shoot as fast as pictured.

3. He would need a huge compressor to maintain enough air volume to continue shooting.

4. He has little to no recoil.

99.999999% probability that it is photoshoped or something....maybe Etch-O-Sketch

Daddyof18,
I have been a carpenter ever since I got out of the Army, and have been self-employed with my own construction business for over a decade...

Having met many self-proclaimed "hotshot" union carpenters after living in a major city in the North East for a few years, and hiring a few of them who have moved down here in recent years, I can honestly say that I'm not impressed in the least bit. Just my personal experience, not trying to make a personal dig on you...

Dozer,
No worries, Brother, it's all good

Lonewolf here's one of my jobs from about 3 yrs ago. Only in the union because I basically have no options to work high end jobs, but I might add this is all changing very quickly.
