Greetings all, I'm a 35n sigint guy, recently returned from Afghanistan and want to confirm what my orders state.

I am told that my orders are to 7th Group, airborne in route, and they only state XVIII Airborne Corps on them. I was told this is because my orders are to airborne school first, but I met a friend today heading to 10th Group, also heading to airborne the same day and his orders specifically state 10th Group on them.

Just wondering what my orders should specifically state.

I'm ass u me (ing) they state 18th abn corp because you'll go to rplacement det before reporting to 7th.....been awhile since I've PCS'd, so take it with a grain of salt, so to speak.

good luck....keep your feet and knees together Airborne!!

I've PCS'd to Bragg several times and the only time that I got "pinpoint" orders was when I was WO. When you get to Bragg, call 7th Gp MI folks there to let them know you're in the neighborhood and for further instructions. I don't think they'll let you get away.

BTW, unless something has changed drastically, you'll enjoy your time there. It's a great unit with even greater guys.

Call the Group MI Det and have somebody look into your orders. The USASFC(A) G2 SGM does a decent job of managing MI assets across the Regiment; he's another asset to ensure you go where you want. I hope you know something about being a 35P. FWIW - I recommend you only unpack those items immediately required for minimal housekeeping. You'll be repacking for Florida soon after arriving.

Even when I had orders to return to Group at FBNC, mine always routed me through the 18th ABC's AG Replacement Det which then cut orders assigning me to the JFKCENMA AG Det who would then cut orders assigning me to a Group dependent upon availability, MOS, and whatever the master plan for critical fill was at the time.

However, being in contact with your 'supposed' gaining unit ahead of time and reporting into the 18th ABC AG Replacement Det with a specified unit manning line-number and POC/Tel Nbr for them to call for confirmation can be a BIG help if you run into a problem during in-processing.

Thanks for all the insight gentlemen.

I've found out that my orders are to the 82nd. That said the branch manager has no open slots to go to any group and I was wondering if someone could shoot me a pm with contact information for anyone at group who might be able to open up a slot, specifically the the USASFC(A) G2 SGM referenced below. Also anyone I could contact at group upon completion of airborne while waiting for further orders would be much appreciated.

My google-fu is weak and turned up nothing.

Thanks in advance.
