After learning the lesson the hard/expensive way, thought maybe I could save some of the members here from the same lesson. My son enrolled in a well advertised school and it seemed like a good plan. Get a degree in IT and get to work. I even work in the IT field, attended college thou, not a tech school, but still seemed like a good plan. Fortunately, we realized after one semester this was not the way to go. Seems many others have learned this also, after spending a great deal more, 42g.
With so many looking for work, retraining, or where to spend their hard earned VA benefits, I felt it worth sharing this lesson. A recent article on Cracked.com, yes that goofy magazine, does a good/serious job of explaining the rip-off. CBS's 60 minutes also did a story on it back as far as 2005.

Bottom line, if your are looking to spend on education, research the school as well as the career field and search deep. There are still good opportunities in the IT field, but not every school/degree is going to get you hired.
