Historians distinguish four different manifestations of the Inquisition:

Medieval Inquisition (1184–1230s)
Spanish Inquisition (1478–1834)
Portuguese Inquisition (1536–1821)
Roman Inquisition (1542 – c. 1860 )

Islamism - as delineated by Daniel Pipes - has been going on for about 1 Century.

The Inquisition went on for nearly 7 Centuries.

This may be of interest to some...but can we survive another 6 Centuries of religious wars?

And so it goes...

I don't get Pipes.

Let's see what Muhammad's followers can accomplish in the next ~600 compared to the Catholic Church excesses.

Stay tuned. :munchin

Interesting tidbit from the article...

There are Muslims in America that are like Samson; they have come into the temple to pull down the pillars, even if it means destroying themselves." According to Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Subhy Mansour, a former visiting fellow in the human-rights program at Harvard Law School, "We Muslims need a thinker like Dr. Pipes, who can criticize the terrorist culture within Islam, just as I usually do." (Sheikh Mansour, an exile, taught for many years at Al-Azhar University in Egypt, until he was fired and imprisoned for his pro-American and human-rights activism.)
