Pinto Bean Capitol of the World? I would of thought that would be somewhere south of there:cool:;)
Looks like a most memorable locale for some great fireworks and a good hot dog. A rousing parade no doubt!
Sir,
I believe that the picture which you quote as saying you don't know what it is, is a McCormick-Deering Baler.

I sure hope that was just a typo. There aint no such thing as "a good hot dog" unless one eats at least TWO more.:p

For your enjoyment and cultural education (http://lazybobranch.homestead.com/July4-2010.html):DMy son wanted to go to Pick N' Hoe this year, but he'd blown his vacation time on the DCHS 10th year reunion over Labor Day...
there is a parade just south of here, Durango, CO, where the parade goes by twice to make it long enough to attend. that town is Bayfield, CO.
and fun is had by all.

You're thinking of bean consumers, not growers.:D

Sir,

I've been told it's a thresher. I'll find out for sure.
I find big old farm equipment fascinating..as long as somebody else is using it.
Most of the tractors in the parade are used every day.
No high tone collectors in this neighborhood.

And Bayfield's got twice the population of Dove Creek.:D

I think that was Entry #42. If not, it should’ve been.
That looks like my kind of place. I have family in Denver; I’m going to have to check out Dove Creek…

Yeah, but it is a hell of a nice drive - in summer! I drive home that way when I have time. (I'll probably be driving it on 7-18/19 on my way back from Colorado Springs.)

Wolf Creek and Durango is nice, but don't forget highway 141 when coming down from the north.
Used to take it sometimes when travelling between Grand Junction and Page.
Always took it when travelling between Grand Junction and Norwood.
Beautiful in the summer on a motorcycle.
