Can anyone recommend an excellent gunsmith in the Greater Los Angeles area. Task is to mount a scope and bipod on a sniper rifle and do an accuracy/reliability job on it. I am trying to avoid having to ship the stuff to TN or NC and back. PHX area also would be OK. Thanks!

RL - I wouldn't recommend using the word "sniper" to describe any firearm located within the bounds of "The People's Democratic Socialist Free-Green-State Left-Coast Republic of Kalifornia. :munchin I'm not even sure I would mention "accuracy enhanced". Either one conveys sentiments/capabilities guaranteed to cause the arbiters of your rights to break out in a cold sweat/hot rage. (IIRC, neither firearms law, nor criminal law are among your specialties! :p)

Good luck in any event. If you were in NC we'd know exactly who to send you to.

RL - I would give the folks at Nemesis Arms a call. I meet them at SHOT and they make an amazing weapon. They are in the LA area - at least for now. PM me if you need their POC.

If you can get it to the Idaho panhandle Shawn Carlock is an excellent gunsmith.

http://www.defensiveedge.net/

He has won several tactical rifle championships and shoots some pistol comp. Watch some of his videos on his web site on killing animals at extreme ranges.

Here is a little funny video of shooting comp pistol.

You can tell him I sent you and he will charge you extra. :D

Very nice guy and very honest.

If you need lessons in "hunting beyond 1K" he has classes about two or three times a year.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing.... RL, why do't you refer to the rifle as "Dragon Slayer"...

And while we're thinking along those lines, are all the rifles I own "sniper" rifles?:munchin

There's a high end company called Tac-Ops, they appear to have some serious attention to detail and offer a 1/4moa guarentee, they're out of Bev Hills.
