Though I am a fan and I don't follow a driver, I couldn't pass this up. My 20th Group lineage showing...
I like that, I need to find the BIG picture...
:D:lifter:lifter:D
I'm not a Jeff Gordon fan - I like Bobby Labonte. NASCAR teams have major sponsors and use an overall theme for their cars and change up slightly with various sponsors for different races. The #24 car has traditionally been the Dupont/Pepsi car - a major sponsorhip buy-in costs the sponsor around $10m per season. For example, last year the overall theme for the #24 car was "Year of the NCO".

Here are the team's primary sponsors - http://jeffgordon.com/sponsors/
The NGSF paint scheme was for the Texas Motor Speedway race held 18 April 2010.

There's a good video here with Gordon visiting a Texas NGSF unit and unveiling the NGSF paint scheme - "Jeff visits the National Guard" - my guess is it's the San Antonio unit of the 19th.

As far as NASCAR fans and such, sales of team related paraphenalia make BIG money for the drivers - e.g., Dale Earnhardt made nearly $40m his final year of racing - mostly from the sale of hats, stickers, jackets, shirts, toy cars, etc.
Richard's $.02 :munchin
Thanks Richard, I am not a NASCAR groupy either..
I hope the NG got a little discount off that 10M opportunity???
I did find a couple BIG pictures..

Maybe they should have sponsored him for one more race.

I hope that hood found a good home, would be nice in the drill hall of a Readiness Center and not some goat smelling Group Head Quarters... or NGB for that matter.
Good idea - I sent his team the following:
RE: the NG Special Forces hood - I know it would be appreciated by the team who spent time with Jeff in Texas to have that hood when he's finished with it as a memento of that occasion to display in their Team House.

I'll let y'all know if I get an answer - they'll be back out here running at TMS again in October.
And so it goes...;)

They give most of the hoods away as part of the marketing campaign. I had one sent to me by mistake for the 58th BCT. I contacted the State POC and just knew that sucker was headed to a basement bar or Flea bay. I held it till the unit got home and gave it to the SGM. It hangs in the units Drill hall now. Things may have changed or be different in TX but in the NG we didn't have team rooms, lucky if you could carve out a corner of a locker room.
Richard, I am going to call Hendrix Tuesday, but I suspect the TX NG already has the hood.

Time to find a rock to crawl under or throw; the A-Team's Van just did a pre-race victory lap at Charlotte...
