:confused: Why would anyone push armor that stops an AK??

I'm not sure why. "Country Joe and the Fish" thought they did, however:

No doubt the troops would call them NASTIES.:D
Rated for higher than AK, they dont say how much higher only "The NSTT offers scalable armor packages to meet multiple threat levels" Looks like they offer 3 threat levels and also claim IED protection. The closest to a public spec I could find was Opaque & transparent armor Euronorm B6+
B6 is 7.62x51 FMJ pointed nose with a soft core, B7 is the same with a steel core.
