View Full Version : Copy and Paste
This just started; when I copy and paste the type is faint on the page. I assume the fix is in the tools, but I haven't been able to fix the problem, any suggestions?

Do you mean copy and paste from this site, or in general? And to what app?
In general and with MS word

I've got the same thing on occasion as well. Ain't Microsoft Vista and Office 2007 great?

I was having the same problem with e-mails and docs as well. If you highlight the text and then go to Font Color on Word(I don't know if it's called the same thing on the different e-mail sites) and change the color, that should do it.
If you've already tried that and it didn't work then I don't know; it's fixed the problem for me though.

Uh guys, you are copying a white font and pasting a white font, that will make it white in Word or any other program. Part of the copy function. :)

The older we get, the "smarter" Microsoft gets and the more it confuses us.
Unlike older versions of Word that would simply copy/paste the plain text (regardless of formatting), newer versions copy text, color, size, etc. Sometimes useful, sometimes a PITA.

After pasting, look down in the righthand corner of the pasted text and there should be a small icon that appears to be a clipboard (pull out your RiteAide specials if ya got em :D ) If you click on that icon there will be three options available. Select: "Match Destination Formatting". That should a) solve the problem or b) allow you to change the font color because it is now associated with your document and not the browser.
Tx to all on pointing me in the right direction. Using Ret10E suggestion the problem was resolved.

Call me Chef, I'll have you fixed up in about 2 1/2 seconds........ I am the copy paste king. I use Word 2007 and experience the same problem, and with one, (yes, one click) it can be fixed.

Once you paste from here onto Word 2007 the "Home" Tab show be showing. From the Paste button go right, past the font button, font size button, grow font and shrink font, the next one is "Clear Formatting", that's the one.
Once you paste and the area is still "highlighted" (if not highlight the data) just hit the "Clear Formatting" button. Done deal. Works great for copying and pasting from news sources.;)

It took me forever to find it once I made the change from XP to Vista.......(and I took computer classes in college, even got an A.;))
Thanks.. I feel a little smarter now.
As my lovely bride likes to occasionally remind me, after I learn something new I'm not any smarter, just more useful.
