I did a search for 'sniper' and 'inside the crosshairs'. Nothing came up...so.
History Channel, "SNIPER: Inside the Crosshairs"
A ret Marine Sgt did a simulation of Carlos Halfcocks shot thru a scope .
Right now some guy named Rob Furlong(?)/Operatoin Anaconda talking about his shots.
He did some diagrams and explained _where_ you really aim for and when to pull the trigger.
I liked that. I get taught, not just entertained. Geez, 4 secondes a mile and a half to impact.
Truly awesome shot.
I really enjoyed the show, learned a lot.. Gotta see it again when my brain is not so dead.
Some realy way cool shots. I can reccomend seeing. Of course I am sure there were be criticisms. Usualy are from this crowd. :D
Watch it tell me what ya' think.

I saw the show as well and thought it was great. I found it more interesting because each situation is taken from the book Trigger Men which I already read and highly recommend. It was cool to be able to put a face with the names in the book.
You think maybe this belongs in the Library section?

Here is a shot at 2025 yards. Of course I miss but it was interesting reaction from the animals. If your computer will tolerate the 720 pixel High Def. then you can see the bullet strike in the second video and it is dead on even in the wind but I make an error in range because of my not double checking how far the small buck was. No need to run the first video in HD.

I watched one of my snipers break the Americal/Chu Lai Sniper School record one day with a M21. It was a peculiar circumstance and he was extraordinarily good with a rifle.

I had the honor of hosting a Long Range Rifle Marksmanship (Sniper) course through Monterey Peninsula College in 1991. Carlos Hathcock spent two days lecturing the mostly law enforcement with some military students on how to be a counter sniper.
Afterwards, we had a dinner at the Covey Restaurant (4 Michelin Stars) in Carmel Valley. Clint Eastwood (who had just starred in the movie Heart break Ridge) was in the restaurant and one of the guys at our table asked the gunny if he would like to meet Clint. Gunny Hathcock asked how many people Clint had actually killed... There was a pause and Hathcock said bring him (Eastwood) over and let him meet a real Marine.

Armymom1228, I was in Virginia Beach in the late 90's and asked Carlos how far was that shot that went thru the enemy's scope. He said, according to the topographical map, ~ 500 meters.
Saw an Army sniper hitting an iron maiden target (18" x 30" IIRC) at night at 1600 meters ( 1 mile).
Last 3 shots were in the face of the target.
Saw same army shooter shoot a football sized and shaped rock at 400 yards at near dusk off hand while he was still wobbling and settling-in on foot with a 243 bolt gun that wasn't his gun.
Not bad shooting.
