Listen up!!!!
One of our own is running the "Boston Marathon" and attempting to raise money on behalf of the Green Beret Foundation. Now drop what you're doing and go and pledge 5.00 bucks to the cause!!!!! Then send this to all your friends and tell then I said go and give 5.00 bucks to the cause. Remember, it's for wounded Green Berets and their families.
Tell you what, the 200th person to pledge 5 bucks I'll give them a Green Beret, one of my own and a Professional Soldiers knife.
Thanks,
Team Sergeant

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I will be running the Boston Marathon as a part of the USASOC Fund Raising Team on 19 April 2010. Our team goal is to raise a minimum of $250 per team member, but I'm striving to raise as much as possible (currently as least $5000).
My fundraising will directly go to support the Green Beret Foundation. Your contribution Donations to the Green Beret Foundation are tax-deductible. The GBF Federal Tax ID Number is 27-1206961.
Donating through this website is simple, fast, and secure using credit cards with the "Sponsor me now" links. You may also donate directly to the Green Beret Foundation or offline by contacting me directly (please make checks/money orders payable to "Green Beret Foundation"). If you donate directly to the GBF, please let me know the amount you donated so I can update my total fundraising stats.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too.
Thank you!
Dan H.

You can keep the head gear.
About the knife:
I am sure there is a worthy SF candidate who would love to take it with them on their upcoming journey. I will defer the choice back to you and the board.
I will pay to Dan online.
Hope this helps.
It's Saturday night. I am off to the pub. But I won't be eating any Chile from New Mexico.:p

Donation made.
Good luck Dan.
Sincerely,
Many thanks to the all that have donated from PS.com; you helped raise over $5000 in just one week! This is in addition to the thousands that already flowed in from here to the Green Beret Foundation: http://www.greenberetfoundation.org/news/donations-pour-thanks-gbf-link-professionalsoldierscom
I am grateful to the outpouring of so many for this specific fundraiser in support of the Green Beret Foundation and encourage all latecomers to this donation site (http://www.firstgiving.com/dan_h) to continue to donate to the Green Beret Foundation.
Lets see how much we can raise together to support this Foundation in its start up-phase! Also keep the Green Beret Foundation in mind as the charity of choice, focusing specifically on Special Forces, in your next fundraising event.
Thank you, Dan

There's only a few days left to donate to Dan's charity run (http://www.firstgiving.com/dan_h).
There's almost 20,000 individuals on here and only a few dozen donations, mostly by past and current SF soldiers.
Read the following and then go and give $5.00, $10.00 whatever to GBF via Dan's run.

Green Beret Foundation
The United States Army Special Forces, commonly known as the Green Berets, produces some of our nation’s finest and most elite warriors. They fight across a broad spectrum of missions in the pursuit of freedom for those oppressed and to protect our nation from those who seek to do us harm. They are known as our country's quiet professionals. The Green Berets have been defending our nation against its enemies throughout the last 5 decades in times of peace and war.
The liberties we enjoy as Americans don’t come without a cost. The Special Forces bear the burden of having the highest number of wounded personnel of any other U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) proponent. The Green Beret Foundation serves these quiet professionals who bravely serve the American people and its freedoms.
In an effort to fill the gaps in support left by the boundaries of other organizations, the GBF facilitates assistance to our wounded, ill and injured Special Forces soldiers and their families. We do this by providing resources to ease the burdens of some of the financial hardships that arise in their time of need as well as improving the quality of life for the soldier and the family.

Run, Dan, Run! :D
Here's two others that ran.
Castro, Ivan Official Time: 4:24:41, Overall: 18725, Gender: 11164, Division: 1849
DXXXX, Fred Official Time: 4:24:42, Overall: 18726, Gender: 11165, Division: 1850
All, On behalf of the Green Beret Foundation, thank you very much for your support to a great cause!
The USASOC DCG, BG Palumbo, and I finished the run near each other at around 3 hrs 41 minutes. Apparently my shoe chip didn't read at the finish line; I picked up the pace the last 5K to finish strong and not leave much on the race course. Winds weren't too bad and the weather was basically a perfect day for running.
Our Military team was represented with a slice from units across the entire USASOC force and very well taken care of by the Massachusetts State Police! Their support was extremely top notch! They picked us up at various hotels early that morning in Coach buses (with restrooms), brought us into the B.A.C. for baggage drops, Police escorts shut down entire freeways to take our buses to within 50 meters of our starting corral, they had pre-race drinks/snacks setup for us at the start, they picked us up immediately following the race to shuttle us to the B.A.C. for showers and free BBQ (with all the fixings), and finally a bus ride that evening back to our various hotels.
This was made possible by the Massachusetts State Police and with generous donations by good folk like you. I don't know the total donations for the team, but your donations were above and beyond my expectations! Thank you all again for the support!
