Special Operations Warrior Foundation

Military families live in a state of uncertainty, and circumstances are always changing. This is especially true of our Special Operations forces, which since 9/11 have seen demands on them increase. Special Operations personnel is a rare breed of human: expertly skilled, highly trained and wholly dedicated. The challenges they face are particularly dangerous and unpredictable, which makes their job not only difficult on them but their family as well. It takes a special kind of person - an honorable person - to do this job. That’s why they are the perfect people to highlight at the Restoring Honor rally. Read more about our amazing Special Ops in this special to Fusion Magazine HERE, and find out how you can donate to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation HERE.

Join us at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. for this non-political, non-partisan rally...

Please note all contributions made to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) will first be applied to the costs of the Restoring Honor Rally taking place on August 28, 2010. All contributions in excess of these costs will then be retained by the SOWF.

Right - and so it goes...

Well, when I make a contribution it's directly to the organization...but that's just me.

Glenn Beck is only required to give Special Warrior 10% of what is taken in.
Not saying he isn't a nice guy. But if you donate ten bucks, that means that those who really need it, the kids of our fallen spec ops guys, potentionally only get stand to get a buck of that ten.

I am with Gypsy. I make my donations directly to SWF/Fisher House rather than an intermediary.

Dear friends of mine, one a ret SF MSG plus the other a Wyoming SFA chapter member, agree with you. One raises many thousands for the SWF and the other writes some serious checks to the Fisher houses. I am a big fan of both. I have always believed in direct charity. The wife got me hooked on ST. Jude's.

The wife got me hooked on ST. Jude's.

St. Jude's has a very powerful PR/Ad campaign that pulls on the heart strings. I have heard that they only will accept children as patients if they are actively enrolling patients with that particular combination of diagnosis and circumstances.

IMO, you're better off donating to your local children's hospital oncology department.

My $.02; thread hijack done.
