Here's a heads up for you current members and those of you who haven't yet joined the team. We've just added New Balance with a 50% off retail discount to our military team on www.promotive.com/ext/tactical. Our current list of tactical brands are Crimson Trace, Eberlestock Packs, Vortex Optics, SOG Knives & Tools, Suunto, Adventure Med. Kits, Timex, Leupold Tactical, Princeton Tec. We also have about 50+ non-tactical brands with serious pro-discounts. No fee to join. You just have to apply to be vetted.

Thanks

If you read the little letters it says the code is optional, I had to look twice myself.

Do they have any good deals on night vision devices? I hear that the really good stuff is about to hit the market and I'd like to try and buy some before they are all gone.

Caveman I read the small letters, that’s not the code I was asking about, the code I was referring to was the team code for the tactical team, if you get the code it lets you go right in as opposed to waiting to be approved.

FYI I got approved within about 2 hours. Not a biggie. Who is gonna get a $700 Suunto for $430? Me. Everyone knows that looking cool is halfway to high speed. Airsofters are gonna think I am the HEAT! :D

Not the SME on this but...

That first email I got had the code to register my account initially, and then they sent that second code for the 'team'. I made that mistake first, and didn't understand why it didn't work.

I don't know if they sent you a different type of account than the one I got, but for the 'team' approval there were two options: either manually enter the code or click on the hyperlink and it will bring you to the page automatically. One didn't work and I had to work the other a couple times to get it right.

Good luck! Can't praise Rhino enough for this hook up.

We just launched Smith Elite eye wear on the Promotive site. Pretty deep discounts to team members. There are some pretty high speed brands in the pipeline that will be coming live soon. Enjoy.

What do you do for all the sites that require "managers" and all that type of BS?

Just put in your direct line supervisor. Whoever it may be, I have never had a company contact that person, and I have all of the pro purchases I listed. I put in my Squad Leader for my IODA. You pick.

A big +1 to you sir! just getting ready to order my wife and I some New Balance running shoes!

Might want to slow down there and confirm that as an okay purchase. I of course don't know your specific situation but typically with all pro deal type sites there is a strict regulation against ordering for family and friends. The deal is extended to us (you) as the professional and handing it off to family members threatens the chance for all of us to keep enjoying the perks.

If I am off an New Balance in particular or you specifically have something else worked out that allows such a purpose than by all means just take this as a broad PSA for everyone purchasing.

Patagonia has on sale at its on-line store the Slingshot jacket in coyote tan.

The item, located here (http://www.patagonia.com/web/us/product/patagonia-mens-slingshot-jacket-special?p=19057-1-985), is on sale for 50%.

FWIW, the competition for this garment may be significant given the BB where I saw this deal.:munchin

Any idea what happened to the Vortex Razor 5-20 HD on promotive? It was on there a week or two ago but now only the lower priced scoped are listed.

I have a question too. What constitutes a season when limited to two items per season? Is it the current hunting season? Do I have to wait for the Summer Solstice? Is it just a rough guideline?

The promotive guy might pop in on this, but until then...

I have ordered both from the promotive and the 3point5 sites and for many of them, the computer is simply smart enough to know. When you add items to your cart and then order them, there will be a line in the ordering terms page whenever you next access that company. It will say you have "zero of two items remaining this season" or whatever. So then when the company updates their line or offerings on the site it will recycle and let you order again.

I know that doesn't tell you how long the season is, but maybe it sheds some light on being worried that you could place an order and then get a nasty email saying you're being greedy.

It varies by brand. Some keep it to a calendar year. Others go bi-annual. Which brand are you inquiring about and I'll get clarification.

I'll check with Vortex to see what the status is. On a high end item like the Razor it may be out of stock. I know that they don't keep a huge inventory on that kind of stuff. As soon as I hear I'll report back.

This time, I was thinking of Crimson Trace because I purchased two items about a month ago. It's not an urgent issue, I was really just curious for future knowledge.

I got a report back from Vortex. They are out of stock but expect to have more in within the next two weeks. Look for them back on the store mid April.

CT runs their season based on 180 days from your first purchase. You are allowed 2 items per 180 days but no more than 1 SKU per 180 days. So you can't buy 2 of the same thing. If you make a single purchase that starts your 180 days. You can make your second purchase anytime after but your new season starts 180 days after your first purchase. I hope this clears it up for you. If not let me know.

I can contribute something, Lowa offers a 40% military discount. They asked me for a scan of my ID, when I told them its illegal to reproduce CAC cards they said any kind of proof of being in the military would work, you could send some censored leave orders or something.

www.lowaboots.com email them about their pro discount for instructions and the order form. They will ship anywhere, including APO's. I have a pair of the Tibet Pro GTX backpacking boots and they are the nicest boots I have ever owned.

They offer their popular models up to a size 16, so if you have clown feet like me you should definitely check them out.

Liquid Eyewear (www.liquidpolarized.com) offers a military discount (typically about 1/2 price of what is on their website) to all military service members if you call them up. If you're tired of breaking Oakley's and dealing with cheap plastic eye pro, you need to look at Liquid. It's 100% made in the USA and they offer a lifetime warranty. They can also do RX lenses either as inserts or the lens itself.

You know, I have gotten some really great deals at promotive.

Just be aware that not everything is a huge discount off MSRP. Some is though, super deals on Woolrich, for example.

For anyone who can get into 3 Point 5, which I believe is reserved for retail type personnel, there are great deals on firearms and accessories.

Glock - has phenomal deals there
FNH - Site is currently unavailable
Smith & Wesson
Thompson Contender
Crimson Trace - Great deals
Daniel Defense - Good deals
Kershaw
Spyderco
Gun Vault

3point5.com is run by the same people who run promotive. There are training modules that are required to get a discount through the company. The premise I assume for the good deals is that if you get the salesman to purchase your goods, they will believe in them and sell more of them. Intelligent self interest right there.
