What an effort tonight by the Red, White and Blue. It was a great way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Miracle on Ice. Miller was outstanding. I also think Jamie Langenbrunner really led the way with his work ethic. It was a great effort by our captain.:lifter
Way to go USA. Keep the run going to the gold.

NBC (non-cable) just showed the LAST 30 SECONDS of this game, breaking away from its regular coverage of ice skating and bobsledding to do so.

I was there, well almost. Went to the RUS-CZE game but could not get tickets for the CAN-USA game -- they were going for 1500 a piece in the cheap seats! Prices did not drop after game started -- they sold that high.
I took LOTS of flak walking around in my Team USA jersey. If there were lots of Americans there, they were disguised in Team Canada gear. Needless to say, it was a pleasure listening to the hysterical callers on Vancouver sports radio after the game. :)

Nope. That was a bunch of kids who beat a bunch of pros. It will always remain a miracle. Now it's basically an all star NHL team with Olympic logos.
Yawn. Did something happen?

How about Brian Rafalski - unreal. A defenseman scoring four consecutive goals for us with another coming off a deflection from his slapshot that was so slight you couldn't tell w/o slowing down the tape. There should have been hats on the ice.
The better goalie, staying out of the box, skating and fore-checking harder - we did everything right.
Hope Canada at least places though - they got this game started.
Keep it up USA - you can bring it home.

Sickening... The only other winter event that does anything for me is curling and thats wishing I was at the range. On the bright side you missed NHL commissioner Bettman talking.
There were a bunch of Canadians (or wannabes) in the bar, and when the USA won, someone put on the jukebox the theme from Team America. Having the entire bar yelling, "AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!" at the Canadians was hilarious.

MSNBC (sister station) covers other Olympics, they aired the full game.
Personally I don't feel NBC is doing a great job of coverage.

Yeah, my neighbor w/ cable, and a lot more TV time than myself, reports that he saw the whole game. I must have seen (on a time-delay) the moment when they broke in live with the final 30 seconds. (Just my luck! :boohoo )

Curling has the same effect on me, but I suspect for a different reason. Why’s it make you want to go to the range?
Heck, I always want to go to the range…
You’d have liked the finish of the Women’s Biathlon 12.5 km Mass Start yesterday.

Agree.
In 2006, the US Women’s team had a pair of blond sisters. Their focus and concentration were magnificent, and their release was with consumate finesse, like a shooting a Feinwerkbau or Anschutz with a 2 oz. trigger.

The Swiss played a very good game against the U.S., no shame in leaving the tournament like that.
Goodbye to the Czech mullets..
See you guys tomorrow ;)
The US Women's team is not faring so well today. 3rd period, we're down 2-0. :(

Another great team effort by the US. I hope they have one more big game left in the tank. I am guessing we will need Miller to stand on his head again. Either way, the team that nobody considered a medal contender has done an excellent job in Vancouver.
Go USA!
Finland shouldn't hang their heads, they had 2 pretty good periods. Go USA!
Miller should receive MVP of these Olympic games.
It should be an outstanding game....GO USA!

What a GREAT game! When the US tied it with mere seconds to go I thought...YEAH, we're going to win this. Alas, not so.
Congrats Team Canada!

Great game! No disgrace in Silver after a run like that!
If you lose a hockey game, let it be to Canada. BZ, Canada...for Gold Medals in both hockey games.
You're right, Gypsy...Miller should be MVP. Had 139 saves! (Actually, 39 saves during the Gold game. 139 saves for the Olympics. Stiil an accomplishment.) That's incredible.
I've never enjoyed hockey until this Olympics.
