NHL goalies usually have highly customized masks with artwork and words they like. The goalie for my LA Kings, Jonathan Quick, has the words "Support Our Troops" on his. Apparently this violates the rules for the olympics, so he's going to have to cover it up. Details here:

Their games - Thier rules

I think we're upset because it's our ox that is getting gored.

There is a lot of non-Americans that could do similar (worse) stuff to PO us.

Besides - it might take away from all the advertising splashed over everything you see.

Ya, it stinks they had to remove those words off their masks. However, Ryan's mask is pretty damn cool!!

Great game USA (won) vs. Switzerland.

Go USA!

That is awesome!

Too bad about the removal of support, but it's still kickass.

USA USA!

I don't have a problem with removing it. If they allow that, there's no telling what the Iranians might end up with on their uniforms.
Stick to the games. Support the troops by doing your best.

I actually agree with this because of the above stated that if they let this go then next on some guys ski or shoe is gonna be "kill all the infidels" and so on. This like most things are a very slippery slope... let one thing slide then next time it is going to be but you let him wear his mask with that phrase.
The IOC must be fair and firm with all, no exceptions.
