They certainly didn't wait.

Saw a story earlier today that it was going to happen "In the next couple of days".

Guess they decided to take care of it prior to Arba'een really kicked off.

Well he was captured back in 2003. I don't know if you can call it quick. It's to bad that they didn't give him to the Kurds and let them determine the best way to carry out the sentence.

Arrested for crimes starting in the fall of 1988.

Not especially quick, but just.

My $.02.

Agree! The Kurds would have been better off hijacking his execution, and giving it to him themselves. From what I have read of this man, I hope he is having a fabulous FIRST day in HELL! And many more...one can only hope anyway...

7 years from capture to lights out? Compared to the American criminal justice system you can bet it's quick. :lifter

Thank God he was captured pre-Obama or he'd be sitting in a courtroom in New York right now listening to his lawyer's objections about the harsh treatment he's receiving, with limited TV privileges and how the guards are opening and reading his many letters proposing marriage from star struck women across the country.

I'm sure the Dims still think he has an appeal or two left...

I guess it is a matter of perspective because under his old boss anything longer than 30 seconds from conviction to execution was a lifetime. ;)

Well, there was always the obligatory torture session videotaped for Saddam before the execution. That would stretch it out a few hours.;)
