Obama to skip jury duty in Chicago suburbs
updated 1 hour, 8 minutes ago
BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - President Barack Obama will be skipping jury duty after being summoned in Illinois.

A White House official said Sunday that the president has alerted the court he won't be able to make it.

Obama was summoned for jury duty at the Bridgeview courthouse in suburban Chicago starting Monday. The summons had arrived at the Obama home on Chicago's South Side.

With his first State of the Union speech set for Wednesday, Obama has a busy week ahead.

The president is a graduate of Harvard Law School and a former professor at the University of Chicago Law School.

A jury is to be made up of peers; no way zero could be on any jury. Zero would likely be the first to agree.

My $.02.

Automatically generated lists based on HOR addresses lead to some pretty funny things - my Mom let me know I had gotten a jury notice for Sacramento County, CA, after I had been drafted, had been in the Army for 5 months, and was in Airborne School at Fort Benning at the time the notice arrived in the mail. :p

He might as well go, it's not like he's working hard or anything.

Oh, wait, it will cut into his time on the links.

Well, he could show up...vote present...and leave.
