I tried your link, but was unable to access the website. So I did a quick search and using Billboard's #1, my song is "(You're) Having My Baby" by Paul Anka with Odia Coates. I have neverheard of it although the title sends a shiver down my spine, heh-heh.

I'll have to ask my dad if he was singing that when he was racing to the hospital to see me and was pulled over by the police for speeding.

I have to be careful not to laugh so hard that I get another hernia!

Back when you were in a bassinet, I worked an airline that was all 1st Class. It even went to an isolated terminal at LAX.

Diana Ross came in on a flight with her two kids. Even as isolated as we were, she wanted to exit through our Flight Control offices instead of through the terminal.

I was the only one in the office when they came through. She was singing, “We are the World”.

She had two limos…one for her and the kids and one for her luggage.

Where is her world?

Pat

p.s.: The proper response, with your avatar, would be " Good grief!"

"I Got You Babe"Ah, memories of Cher strutting her stuff on those variety shows.

IIRC, she did a number with Racquel Welch that was the talk of recess the following day at Ivanhoe Elementary. No, I didn't say anything at all.;)

While my strongest memory of Cher is the eulogy she gave at Mr. Bono's memorial service, my fondest is of the story she told about a screening of Silkwood (1983). She heard snickers and laughs when her name appeared during the opening credits. By the end of the screening, she said, the snickers and laughs were gone.

That was the last time she would hear anyone laugh about her skills as an actor. At least openly. (If only she had stayed with the acting.)

My wife still has one share of Telstar stock that her father bought her in the early 60s.

(Okay, I cheated and still don't know.)

August of 47,

It was: Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! (That Cigarette), Western swing. The original Tex Williams version went to number one for sixteen weeks on the Country Charts. A popular version performed by Phil Harris went number one on the Pop Charts in August 1947 and stayed there for six weeks.

And during one of those August weeks, I came a long. Interstingly enough - I am not a smoker - never was. As has been mentiond many times before - being a non-smoker back when they used to put cigerrettes in your C-Rats - was a great advantage. Could trade them for most anything - especially in the field.

LLI admire Mr. Jones. He has made great music, has had a profound impact on global mass popular culture, and his romantic conquests are legendary. (It says something about a guy when his exes hang out with each other, talk about how great things were, and not have that "aha" moment and start comparing notes. Well done, Q! Well done!)

That being said, I'd like to see a better application of his philanthropy, his leadership, and his artistry than rebooting that dreadful song.:(
