View Full Version : Thread for lawyers
Noticed there are at least a few other self-identified lawyers on here.. Roguish Lawyer, Counsel, I feel like I recall one or two more... I'd be interested in your practice areas. I work for the gov but not military.

They're not stupid, they know if they identify themselves we could get them all with one hand grenade.....;)
You know that sound that crickets make?
You can almost hear them, but on the internet, wow!

Funny...I'm not hearing the crickets anymore...does that mean anything? Other voices must be drowning them out...again...:p
And why in the world would anyone come to an SF website to exchange ideas with lawyers?

Maybe because SF guys frequently need the assistance of a good lawyer! Lucky me, one of my old "team buddies" is a damned good litigator... not just a lawyer - and despite what TV may show, those guys (litigators) are few and far between imho.
So... come on, self-identify! Don't be like my SPED kids in Evening School. Be proud, shout it out loud! :D:D
This thread, needs it's own "Avatar".
I think this one fits.......

I am a civil litigator. There, y'all happy now?
Who came up with "the Verified Bill of Particulars and a demand for discovery and inspection" after counterclaims and cross claims? Why sue, counter sue, and deny each and every allegation contained in pargraphs...of the Verified complaint herein...blab, blab, blab....
I was speaking with a retired Superior Court Judge for the Great State of New Jersey recently and the conversation turned to Posner; the good judge was kind enough to share his three decades of insight on the bench, with the following remark concerning a Judge's prejudices which Posner refers to in his book, so, when asked about criminal cases, his viewpoint was, “they’re all guilty”…
Oh boy. You all SEE why I tell people I meet, especially guys, that I'm a palm reader?? Not sure why anyone else who's a lawyer is on this board. I'm here because some of the people I most admire are QPs.. And, let's face it, you guys are just damn cool.
Plus I find you guys to be knowledgeable, your board is well organized/is not cluttered up with nonsense, and I tend to agree with at least a lot of you politically. Seriously, though, I think there's something we can relate to about the QP way of..analytical thinking/problem solving? Or maybe I'm making that part up.
....... your board is well organized/is not cluttered up with nonsense, ..........
I ain't gonna' say it, nope, I ain't gonna'.
I joined the board before I was a lawyer and I'm grateful the QP's haven't kicked me off even after I became one. :D
I recently hung a shingle and am a solo practitioner. Mostly personal injury, although as a solo it seems like I only spend about twenty five per cent of my time on lawyering.
