Michael Yon arrested at Seattle airport
Hot Air - posted at 1:22 pm on January 5, 2010 by Ed Morrissey
“Got arrested at the Seattle airport for refusing to say how much money I make. (The uniformed ones say I was not “arrested”, but they definitely handcuffed me.) Their videos and audios should show that I was polite, but simply refused questions that had nothing to do with national security. Port authority police eventually came — they were professionals — and rescued me from the border bullies.
When they handcuffed me, I said that no country has ever treated me so badly. Not China. Not Vietnam. Not Afghanistan. Definitely not Singapore or India or Nepal or Germany, not Brunei, not Indonesia, or Malaysia, or Kuwait or Qatar or United Arab Emirates. No county has treated me with the disrespect can that can be expected from our border bullies.”http://hotair.com/archives/2010/01/05/breaking-michael-yon-arrested-at-seattle-airport/

I hope this incident causes an internal investigation which causes them to overhaul the entire TSA procedures. Doubtful though.
Just for the harassment they should give Michael a lump sum. He would probably give it to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation or WWP.
Napolitano's failings,:boohoo now this. This will be interesting to see what happens next.:munchin

This made me smile.....
I physically escorted this ass-clown off of my compound in Iraq in 2005. I'd have cuffed him if I had cuffs on me.....

Nice to know things are working as they should now.
Joan Rivers bumped off flight in Costa Rica when Continental gate agent finds passport suspicious

".....Rivers, 76, was deemed a danger to national security and booted from a Newark-bound flight in Costa Rica on Sunday by a jittery Continental Airlines gate agent who found the two names on her passport fishy.
Her passport reads: Joan Rosenberg AKA Joan Rivers. Rosenberg was her late husband's last name........"
I feel so much safer now.......

So sad it's hilarious. Absolutely no "common" sense. What's the IQ requirement for TSA now? I think it's a range between 50 and 75.
Joan Rivers
I feel so much safer now.......IMO, the TSA hit it out of the park on this one. Rivers is a master of disguise <<LINK (http://www.celebrityplasticsurgery.us/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/joan_changes_2.jpg)>>. GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING
And she has been bombing for decades <<LINK2 (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=joan+rivers&search_type=&aq=f)>>. TERRIBLE COMEDY WARNING

Thought for sure that this was some kind of joke reading the title...are you kidding me, Michael Yon???:( GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
What kind of idiots are they recruiting for these high security jobs anyway??? McDonalds rejects? (nothing against FF workers...but come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Oh sure, I feel safe flying the friendly skies now...anyone remember right after 9-11, when the Airline Ads on TV were, "It's Time to Fly!" Oh how far we have come since then...Um, can we bring back Bush? Pa-LEEESE???

I believe that the way it was handled was BS, it was truly blown way out of proportion. No one has ever asked me how much I made, but I have been asked where I lived and how much, if any, cash I was carrying. Seems to me there is more to this story, but we shall see.

Interesting. Still, if the question was as he stated, it was inappropriate.

I wonder if Yon's passport has stamps from from every hot spot on the planet. I further wonder if a guy with a ton of stamps gets an extra helping of scrutiny 10 days after some jackass with tnt panties tries to blow up a flight.
I'm a big fan of Michael Yon's dispatches. There's got to be another side to the story. Maybe he was carrying an extraordinary amount of cash or something set off the ICE guy.
Anywhoo, ICE won't know what hit them. DHS is a joke.
Mr. Yon seems to be in "squeaky wheel" mode of late. Last fall, he had a public snit with the UK's MoD <<LINK (http://www.michaelyon-online.com/bullshit-bob.htm)>> <<LINK2 (http://www.michaelyon-online.com/nick-gurr-reply-to-michael-yon.htm)>>.

Seems like I've told that story on here before. The guy has no SA. Not possible! He served in the Special Forces in the early-1980s, one of the youngest soldiers to pass the Green Beret selection process,
It has to be true cuz he wrote it in a book and I read it on wiki!

I am confused......but this is not new:p
From reading the post and comments i was at first thinking TSA rousted him as he was trying to board a flight at the security checkpoint. After reading and doing some searching it is clearer I think.
1st point TSA Does not have hand cuffs. Their job is nothing other than security checkers/scanners. They have no LEO Enforcement authority. That is why LEO's are there to do the real work if there is a problem.
2nd point Yon was entering the country when he had his supposed detainment. That means that CBP (FED LEO) detained him. CBP is allowed to ask almost any question's to ALL persons entering the US to determine the validity of a persons paperwork and also to gauge your reaction when you respond. All he had to do is say I make enough to be comfortable or I do not make nearly as much as I should. SMILE and be pleasant. He was sent to secondary for a legal reason and CBP is not going to fight this in the BLOG forums......
3rd.... He is a tool so I hope they got his attention......
Boarding planes you deal 1st with the counter then TSA at the checkpoint then the Airlines and TSA upon boarding as needed....
Entering the country you deal with CBP at the immigration entry point then CBP at the baggage pickup /inspection point (Old name Customs area) then TSA if you recheck your bags for connections. You are never going to see an ICE Agent unless they start an investigation. All these blogs on this tool are spun way out of control...... tin Foil heads give me a head ache....
These comments are from a frequent traveler and if you pay attention you can see all the things I have commented on...... TSA are just rental cops and nothing more and it is funny when you challenge them they try to be a bully until you trump them with your creds......

"be a bully"? Sounds like a typical low level government employee.

His statement ....."In any situation there's two sides to the story," says CBP spokesman Mike Milne. "You've heard one side, and we're prohibited by the Privacy Act from telling our side."

When they said hire the weak, lame and handicapped they go what they asked for. Hell Now they want to become a union.......
The other day in Atlanta I could not even understand the TSA Female that said something to me. Had to ask for an interperator.... That guy just waved me on and gave me a dirty look. THANK God they did not think our creds rated to be in their manual posted on the web.....

Big Teddy :munchin Teddy, I did go pink but not really screwing around. I googled him and found the statement that he was an 18 (and the youngest ever). BS meter flickering. . .
Yon claims to be a QP. Anyone remember him? or do we have a poser?

In Yon's defense, he's real. I knew a guy who served with him, but his time in SF was short lived, it seems felony charges for manslaughter will do that. Dispite the aquittle, his career was over. Writing a book about the incident was propably the best thing he could have done. It put him on a path of 'opinion journalism'. Now is he right in everything he does? No. And I agree with others regarding his practices and proceedures. He has access to some leaders and the respect of well placed Generals, Senators, civic leaders and Congressmen.
He, like the rest of us, makes mistakes and some bigger then others. When you live publicly, like he does, you can expect some things to be made known. I however am guessing this was thought out and planned. Even bad attention is attention. This will only move his support along. In that, I have a problem with his behavior.
There was nothing "quiet" or "professional" about it.

Yon is the real deal. 10th Gp if I recall correctly. I remember hearing about his killing the guy in a bar fight, he got off because he told the guy something like" don't mess with me I'm a trained killer" or something to that effect.
Now Michael Yon being "escorted" off a "Special Forces" compound by another "Green Beret" is funny as hell..... mffjm8509 is a "journalist" bully.:D

Maxim told me that I had that record (in 1979): 18 years, 9 months and 7 days when I graduated the Q. Duke Snider and Col. Jack told me I looked like I had just started growing pubes! :p
