I didn't think FSU was going to pull it off, but they did.

Interesting statistic they showed: That was FSU's 10th game with more than 400 yards of offense this season. If they only had a defense.....

Anyway, I'm really happy Bobby and Mickey went out as winners. A very fitting ending to their amazing careers.

It helped that WVU pretty much handed it to them on a nice shiny platter... As much as I begrudge the win, Coach Bowden left an indelible mark on the college game and I wish all the best.

Tailgating before the game I had some serious doubts--- cold/rain is not great football weather for Florida teams ( The U anyone?)
Anyway- I was beyond pleased to witness Bobby's last game, as one of the many.

Funny present Bobby received... Mickey got a nice truck from his former players; Bobby was presented a Toyota Camry. Many of us were laughing- not sure the Mercedes is going to 'slum it' in the garage with that 2010 Camry. Toyota of course had some sort of sponsorship deal with the game.

For any Jax Jag fans- I hope the stadium doesn't suck as bad for you as it did for this bowl game.

Cheers to Bobby!

Did you all not see at half time that Bowden slipped WVU some bills to let him win his last game. That's what I think anyways.

BTW, I do not like FSU, never have never will. Bunch of thugs.

And yes it was nice to see the stadium sell out in 2 hours. Only if the Jags could do that.

I've ALWAYS been a Seminole. Though it was time, I think the way FSU "ushered" Bowden out was extremely low class. It will come back to bite them.

Bowden, his "program", and that school's whole athletic dept. are a bunch of cheats. Hence, the NCAA taking wins from Bowden, 14, and NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS from track. Just Google it.

There are very few programs who aren't "cheats"- they are just better at covering their rears. Take USC for example...

Joe Namath was a dirt poor kid from coal country Pennsylvania but he drove around the campus in a white corvette convertible. That doesn't justify cheating and breaking the rules, its just an observation of a known fact from the old days.

I will not argue that Bobby Bowden is perfect- whom among us are?
However I will disagree with the characterization of him as a cheat.

Don't need to google the possible 14 wins turning to losses. The story does not involve Bobby directing cheating. As the coach he is responsible for the team and will take his punishment as the leader.

The man is more than that story. Like him or not, he took interest in his players and acted as coach. Not just a football coach but also as a surrogate that led by his deeds. He demonstrated values and integrity and pushed others to do the same. He was not always successful.

Coach Bowden has his place in history but more importantly has done his job mostly well and as a bonus changed many young men's lives for the better.

Pope Bowden can now retire and rest in honored glory. I hear there's a move on by Seminole Amumni to have him put on Mt. Rushmore. :munchin
